I. Implementing Entity: Tulat Elementary School

II. Project Proposal Title: Gamified Audio-Based Learning of Four Fundamental

Operations in Remediation Program for Key Stage-1 Non-Numerate Learners

III. Type of Innovation: Process Innovation

IV. Brief Description of the Proposal:

Gamified audio-based learning of four fundamental operations in
remediation program aims to lessen key stage 1 non-numerates learners of
Tulat Elementary School. The project will make the remediation process
enjoyable, effective, and turning math practice into a lively and memorable
experience. By leveraging auditory stimuli, interactive elements, and a
competitive structure, students will be motivated to actively participate and
deepen their understanding of the fundamental operations. Through this
approach, traditional remediation can be transformed into a game-like setting.

V. Scope of Implementation: Tulat Elementary School, Schools Division of San

Jose City, Nueva Ecija.

VI. Total Funding Requirements: Php.1,100.00 (School Canteen) Fund. This

budget will cover the the implementation of the project.

VII. Implementation Period: School Year 2023- 2024

VIII. Background

Numeracy is a fundamental skill that goes beyond just understanding

numbers; it encompasses the ability to use mathematical concepts and
problem-solving approaches in various aspects of daily life. It plays a crucial

role in empowering individuals to make informed decisions, solve problems
efficiently, and navigate the complexities of the modern world. The department
of education pursue its mission and vison to provide quality education in the
ever-evolving landscape of digital technology, innovative approaches to
education and rehabilitation have emerged, leveraging the power of
gamification and audio-based experiences. One such promising innovation is
“Gamified Audio-Based Learning of Four Fundamental Operations in
Remediation Program". A dynamic method that combines the engaging
elements of gaming and promoting skill development and retention through
interactive, game-like experiences delivered primarily through auditory
channels. By integrating gamification principles into audio-based
interventions, learners will be more interested, challenged and motivated in
remediation process. Learners will also be given opportunities to practice
speed level and this not only makes learning more practical but also reinforces
the relevance of these operations in everyday life.

IX. Rationale

In line with the DepEd Order No. 13 s. 2023 titled “ Adoption of the
National Learning Recovery Program in the Department of Education” and its
subprogram, the National Math Program (NMP). The Schools Division of San
Jose City issued Division Memorandum No. 368, s. 2023 “National Math
Program (NMP) Schedule of Activities for SY. 2023-2024”. The implementation
of Projects Math 4FUN (4 Fundamentals to Unfold Numeracy). It is a numeracy
test which will be administered from Grades 1-6 in all schools in the Division.
The Numeracy test is not intended as a diagnostic test, formative test or
summative test. This is solely designed to determine the mastery level of the
learners on four fundamental operations. Upon administration of the said
project, out of 233 learners of Tulat Elementary School, 17.17% were
identified as non- numerate learners (Grade I- 14 learners, Grade II- 6
learners, Grade III- 9 learners, Grade IV- 2 learners, Grade V- 5 learners,
Grade VI- 4 learners).

Basic mathematical ideas are typically difficult for non-numerate

learners to understand and cope with in the daily learning process. A
remediation program can significantly affect their performance and
dynamically adjust its content and difficulty levels based on individual
learners' progress. Recognizing and meeting their diverse learning
styles is part of meeting their needs. Gamified audio-based learning is
inherently inclusive, providing an accessible platform for individuals
with individual differences other challenges that may affect traditional
learning methods. The program ensures that learners with diverse
abilities can participate in the remediation of fundamental operations,
are consistently challenged at an appropriate level, facilitate skill
development, and prevent frustration or boredom.
X. Project Description:

A. Goal:
The main goal of gamified audio-based learning of four basic operations
is to develop a pleasant and successful learning environment that makes the
most of the synergistic effects of audio stimuli and gamification concepts to
convert traditional remediation into a game-like environment.

B. Outcome:

• Transformed traditional remediation into a game-like setting.

• Zero Key Stage 1 non-numerates at the end of the school year.
• Practice mental calculation.

C. Objectives:
Specifically, the project will aim to:
1. provide a supportive and engaging environment that addresses numeracy
challenges
2. develop a foundational understanding of the four fundamental operations:
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
3. enhance mental calculation skills by incorporating audio-based learning
4. achieve 0- non-numerates for the SY 2023-2024.

D. Inputs:
• Baseline data of Non-numerates Learners
• Gamified Audio-Based Activities of Four Fundamental Operations (Based on
Window Cards)
• Remedial Session
• School Progress Report on Math 4FUN
• Score Card of learners
• Administration of Math 4FUN

E. Expected Outputs:
The expected output of the project is to achieve zero non- numerates at
the end of school year and transform the traditional remediation into a game-
like setting through Gamified Audio-Based Learning of Four Fundamental
Operations in Remediation Program.

XI. Methodology:
A. Method
Planning and weighing many factors is necessary when creating a
gamified audio-based learning software to help with mental calculation and
the correction of the four basic processes.
1. Pre-administration of Math 4FUN
2. Identifying individuals` needs of improvement
3. Audio-Based Content Creation: Create engaging audio content
that includes four fundamental operations based on window cards
intended for key stage 1.
4. Remedial Sessions
5. Daily Assessment
6. Post Administration of Math 4FUN

B. Target Beneficiary
Baseline data of Math 4FUN -Key stage 1 non-numerates (29
learners of Tulat Elementary School)

C. Impact Estimation
To calculate the innovation's potential impact, learning
metrics will be employed to gauge the knowledge and insights obtained
from the process of innovation.
