Abortion is an example of a controversial issue in healthcare. A significant question for

this topic is: What were the milestones that were achieved by the Trump’s administration in

prohibiting abortion?” Mangan (2018) is one of the sources that provide evidence on the research

topic. It reveals that the administration initiated a new regulation that underscored protections for

practitioners who refuse to engage in abortions based on moral and religious objections. Wilson

(2020) depicts that the Trump administration produced strategic changes regarding the abortion

policy. It also reveals that the Republican states restricted abortion access while Democratic

states defended abortion access. On the other hand, Hiemstra (2021) tries to show that the

policies on abortion were discriminative as they targeted migrant fertility and sexuality in

negative ways.

Wilson (2020) is the most credible source as it was published by the Journal of

Federalism which publishes articles regarding the dynamics of federal systems. The author

utilizes a neutral tone when discussing the controversial issue. The author looks at the issue from

two perspectives, hence creating a comprehensive understanding of abortion in the United States.

Contrarily, Hiemstra (2021)’s article is the least credible as it uses a feminist approach in

discussing the achievements of the Trump administration. From this aspect, it can be opined that

the article provides an overreaction of the initiatives rather than a rational evaluation of its

impacts in the healthcare system.
