colchicine binds to tubulin which inhibits spindle formation and prevents
cell division during Metaphase .

Because they're NOT

going through mitosis
&
Because duplications deletions
are tolerated
better on sexchromosomes compared to autosomal chromosomes

Because only reciprocalsections of specific chromosomes

are
changed and as a result, there's NO extra or missing genes.
However, the
one of rearranged chromosomes can still be
inherited by the offspring.
