Teacher Notes
This is a set of flashcards which can be cut out and folded in half — an
image and question is on the front and a simple description is on the back.
• Knowledge Check: You could muddle up the cards and let children in pairs ask
their partner which are input devices and which are output devices (answers can
be checked on the back of the cards.)
• Snap Game: Muddle up the cards and share them equally between two players.
The children put down a card in turn. If there are two input or two output
devices in a row, the child puts their hand on the pile and shouts snap!
They then take all the cards in the pile. When there are no more cards to share,
the child with the most cards wins.
• Sorting Game: You could create a sorting game. Put two hoops on the floor,
one labelled ‘Input Devices’ and one labelled ‘Output Devices’ — children decide
which cards go into which hoops.
• Hanging Vocabulary: You can glue some string in the middle of each
card and hang them down from the ceiling — they will become
useful vocabulary cards the children will see around them.
