Performance Related Payment (PRP)
• DPE vide its OM No. W-02/0028/2017-DPE (WC)-GL-XIII/17 dated 03.08.2017 issued
the guidelines for PRP methodology to be implemented w.e.f FY 2017-18.
• NTPC Performance Related Pay (PRP) Policy has been issued vide CC-HR IOM No. 937
dated 06.07.2019 in line with above DPE guidelines on Pay Revision and PRP.
• Factors for PRP:
• Rating of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) entered between NTPC Limited and Ministry of
Power for the corresponding year.
• Profitability of the Company.
• Performance of the teams in achievements of the Company Targets.
• Performance of the Individuals in achievements of the Company Targets.
Salient Features of NTPC PRP Policy
▪ Allocable Profit: The overall profits for distribution of PRP shall be limited to 5% of the year's profit accruing only
from core business activities (without consideration of interest on idle cash / bank balances), which will be exclusively
for executives and for non-unionised supervisors of NTPC.
▪ Ratio of break-up of core business / operating profit for payment of PRP between current year’s profit to incremental
profit shall be 65:35.
▪ Components for PRP Payout:

Salient Features of NTPC PRP Policy
▪ Kitty Factor:
▪ Two cut-off factors based on the PRP distribution of 65:35
▪ The first cut-off shall be in respect of relevant / current year’s performance and the second cut-off
shall be in respect of Incremental performance, which shall be computable based on the break-up
of allocable profit
▪ Current year’s 5% of core business/ operating profit bifurcated in the ratio of 65:35 towards
current year’s performance and Incremental performance

Medical Expenses for treatment of Covid-19:


▪ NTPC is bearing the cost of full medical expenses for employees and their dependent family members for treatment
of Covid-19 taken in any Private or Non-Empanelled Hospitals also, in addition to the existing completely cashless facility
in the Company Empanelled Hospitals.
NTPC “KAWACH” Scheme:
▪ NTPC tied up with Apollo Group (Apollo Home Health Care), to provide necessary medical support called “KAWACH”
for NTPC employees, their dependent family members and superannuated employees for COVID-19 positive cases
undergoing treatment under home isolation.
Special reimbursement for medical items for protection and self-monitoring of health against COVID-19:
▪ Special reimbursement to employees for purchase of medical items such as pulse oximeter, infrared thermal scanner,
sanitizers, masks, etc. for protection and self-monitoring of health against COVID-19.
Special Casual Leave for COVID-19:
▪ Special Casual Leave for Covid-19 for a period upto 15 days has been granted for employees who test positive for
Covid-19 to take care of their absence due to Covid treatment/home-isolation/quarantine. Other relaxations provided
