Fernando botero

 Why is the character relevant or known?

This famous Colombian painter and sculptor became one of the most
prominent contemporary artists internationally for his unique way of
representing figures: corpulent and rounded.

 What can you learn from the character?

As a boatman I can learn the spirit of creativity and imagination from him, he
was a man capable of designing and painting those beautiful paintings that
the whole world loved.

 What impact did the character leave on the world?

He left an indelible legacy in the history of international art. His works,
recognized for their unique style and exaltation of forms, transcended
borders and conquered the hearts of thousands of people around the world.

The first known works of Botero are drawings: the illustrations for the literary
supplement of the newspaper El Colombiano de Medellín. In 1951, moved
to Bogotá, he exhibited for the first time individually at the Leo Matiz gallery,
and presented watercolors, gouaches, inks and oil paintings.
The international collection donated by Fernando Botero consists of 85
works including drawings, watercolors, oil paintings and sculptures by artists
between the late 19th century and the 20th century of great worldwide
recognition, which are arranged on the eastern side of the house.
