Dear Admissions Committee,

I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for Mina Daraei Ahwazi, a dedicated and invaluable
member of the Mandaean Association of San Antonio. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working
closely with Mina and have observed irsthand her remarkable contributions to our community.

Mina Daraei Ahwazi has been an active volunteer with our association since January 2016. Her
commitment to helping others is evident in her tireless efforts to assist community members, particularly
new immigrants. I recall many instances where she accompanied individuals to medical appointments,
providing essential translation services, offering emotional support, and assisting in navigating complex
processes. This dedication highlights Mina’s exceptional communication skills, empathy, and unwavering
support for others.

In addition to her direct support of community members, Mina has played a pivotal role in helping new
immigrant families settle into their new lives. She has assisted with inding housing, accessing resources,
and understanding local services, demonstrating a high level of resourcefulness, patience, and problem-
solving skills. These attributes are essential for anyone pursuing a career in healthcare, where
coordinating complex care plans and supporting patients in navigating the healthcare landscape are daily
responsibilities.

Ms. Daraei Ahwazi has also shown a strong commitment to education and advocacy within our
community. As a tutor for non-native students, she has helped many overcome educational challenges and
achieve academic success. By providing personalized tutoring sessions and creating clear, accessible
learning materials, Mina has empowered students to excel academically. Her ability to teach and mentor
effectively is a testament to her dedication and skill in fostering growth and understanding.

Her involvement in advocacy work, including representing the Mandaean community at local meetings
and through social media campaigns, speaks to Mina Daraei’s leadership and dedication to improving the
lives of others. For example, her leadership in organizing community events and speaking on behalf of our
members at city council meetings has been instrumental in securing better resources and services for the
Mandaean community.

Academically, Mina is pursuing pre-health coursework at The Northwest Vista Alamo College with a
cumulative GPA of 3.7 and holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The University of
Texas Health Science Center, graduating with a perfect GPA of 4.0. Her solid foundation in biomedical
sciences and hands-on laboratory skills complement her extensive experience in community service,
