Coordinator Operation Improvement_VPS

➢ Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for the implementation and consolidation of Vale Production System (VPS)
and Continual Improvement in the business units in the dimensions Operation and
Maintenance through Diagnostics and Process Consulting to achieve Operational
Excellence.

➢ Accountabilities:
1. Provide technical support to clients, to ensure the implementation and
consolidation of the management model and standards to achieve Operational
Excellence (Basic Problem Solving – 5S, 5 Why, Deviation; Action plans; and
Implement Routine Management – Daily meetings, KPIs breakdown, Deviation
Analysis, Kaizen, continuous improvement, etc).
2. Support existing demands (VPS Initiatives, etc) – guiding a junior member of the
team.
3. Monitor the results of the operational areas, through performance indicators, in
order to identify gaps in the management of their processes.
4. Identify areas for improvement and provide solutions to clients in an effort to
achieve sustainable results; Capture new demands and facilitate the
implementation of the improvement initiatives.
5. Recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client. Facilitate sprint road
mapping, planning sessions and retrospectives. Support the triage and resolution
of critical impediments.
6. Train key-users in the basics and advance techniques of the management model
and VPS tools.
7. Capture and consolidate the financial and potential gains of operational
improvement initiatives, following the defined methodology and flow of
validation.
8. Execute audits/assessments of the VPS and Operation Improvement management
model – at site complex/location/ level.
9. Maintain the improvements and to act as Normative of the Systems that support
the management model.
10. Collect and share best practices in the company, updating the management model
and standards when applicable.

1. Have good understanding of mines or processing plant or manufacturing business
process
2. Have good knowledge in any improvement methodology/tool
3. Flexible and adaptable mindset
4. Strong Interpersonal skills
5. Good verbal and written communication skills both in English and Bahasa
6. Ability to create networks and relationships with stakeholders

7. Creative problem solver and able to respond to various situations with appropriate
urgency

➢ Skill Requirements:
1. S1 degree with engineering background and min 3 years work experiences
2. Having lean/six sigma certification is preferable
3. Minimum 1 year Experience in VPS implementation or other business
improvement model implementation, demonstrated by letter of acknowledge from
sponsor
4. Bahasa Indonesia & English language skills.
