u/preparetosigh avto invest in two things, your Intelligence and new spells. You
can head down to Rickert to buy an additional Soul Arrow if you really want to, but
you shouldn't need it to be honest.
Upon arriving at Firelink, I'd dump your souls into leveling INT. Pick up the
items from the chests below the elevators, especially the homeward bones.
From there, you can do the repeated suicide rush into the Catacombs to get the way
open to Pinwheel. If you become human on the "final" run you can drop down to
summon Leeroy and have Pinwheel destroyed. This gives you an extra 16k souls,
hopefully the Mask of the Mother for more HP, the Rite of Kindling, and you should
homeward bone back to Firelink.
From there, go through New Londo to get the Firekeeper Soul and reinforce your
Estus Flask. Then proceed to the Valley of Drakes, and into Darkroot Basin. Use the
Master Key to bypass Havel and go talk to the Undead Merchant to purchase the
Residence Key. Proceed to use the balcony jump to drop into the lower burg, sprint
past the doggos, and free Griggs.
As you probably have died and are back at Darkroot Basin, proceed up to Andre and
through the Shortcut back to Firelink. Go ahead and grab the key from the roof and
head back to the Asylum to get the Rusted Iron Ring and the Crest Shield. Return
the Firelink.
At this point, it's simply a matter of scrounging souls (whether from killing
things, dropping into Blightown for corpse looting, etc) for Great Soul Arrow and
the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring.
Anything more, is the normal "save Dusk questline" and eventually saving Logan for
even more spells.

Three reasons:
Crown of Dusk. This headpiece increases your spell damage by 20%, at the cost of
losing 30% of your magic defense. You can only get it from a corpse that spawns
after summoning Dusk. So you need to save her, so you can summon her and then get
the gear.
Dusk as a merchant. Early access to the Ivory Oolacile Catalyst (flat 180 magAdj
with only 12 Int required), and a few utility spells like Hidden Body, Chameleon,
and Repair.
And the biggest reason... You need to kill the Hydra to get to the DLC later, so
you might as well get it out of the way and get the Dusk equipment for your
troubles.

:DaS::DaS2::DaS3:
intelligence is your damage stat, continue to level that until 40, no more than 50
at max.
casting doesnt cost stamina and you probably wont need much in the way of heavy
armor, so dont worry about endurance.
id recommend levelling str/dex to 16/10, as one of the best int weapons in the game
uses that. you can use another melee weapon until you get there, though.
no point in vit is ever wasted. level that consistenly to 30-35, up to 40-50 if you
really need it.
attunement is the only odd one out. certain levels in attunement are useless:
having 13 att adds no benefit over 12 att, and having 21 adds no benefit over
having 19. the breakpoints for attunement slots are 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 28, 34,
41, 50. you shouldnt need more than 4 or 5 slots though, so cap this at 16 or 19.
dont level attunement just to have an extra slot though, always actually have
something to use in that slot.

:DaS::DaS2::DaS3:
but you only have 1 spell starting out (two if you use asylum souls for another set
of soul arrows from rickert). thats 2-3 empty attunement slots that you couldve put
towards damage.
look at it another way: you can have the resources to make a gun holster OR to make
your guns do more damage (doesnt make sense but bear with me). why craft holsters
for a gun you dont have?

Oh it makes sense
Just makes room for another early soul arrow. After that, when you save griggs,
makes room for a soul arrow, 2 great soul arrows, magic weapon and maybe even a
pyromancy if I'm in the mood. It's only a couple points into att anyways so I'm not
losing much. It's just how I've always done it
Either a couple points into int then att or a couple points into att then int,
depending on how I'm feeling. Either way I get a sweet 4 slot I can mess around
with pretty early.
You're just "shooting machine gunz" anyways so I'd rather have the space for ammo
than the firepower. Then later on when you get the "guns" you can decide which ones
you want or not

Hello! Just want to say thanks for the info. Finally got back around to playing and
couldn't remember how to build a Sorcerer. May i ask what weapon you are talking
about and where to obtain?
Cheers! 🍻

:DaS::DaS2::DaS3:
The premier intelligence build weapon that most players like to use is the
Moonlight Greatsword. It requires cutting the tail of a late-game boss (spoiler:
Seath the Scaleless ). It requires 16 str/10 dex. Another popular weapon is the
claymore, which is obtainable very early on. It's also a greatsword, and also
requires 16/10 to wield, so it's what most people use until they get the MLGS.
Whatever weapon you choose to use, I'd highly recommend upgrading it down the
standard upgrade path, which will allow you to apply spells buffs and resins.
Otherwise, upgrade it to fire, and then chaos; or upgrade it to lightning. That way
you have an effective source of damage that isn't pure magic damage, for when you
eventually come up against enemies who are highly resistant to magic.
