Detailed list of current RSP works is enclosed at annexure ‘A’.

- A work of setting up bacteria /inoculum’s generation plant for Bio-toilet of 100 cc capacity
under 1% provision for Environment Related Works with an approximate cost of 68.15
lakhs has been allotted.
- A plant for LHB bogie assembly is being set up by M/s HYT.
- A proposal for development of POH maintenance facilities for rolling stock including
MEMU and train sets has been sent to EDME/Project/Railway Board. Detailed estimate for
this proposed work is under preparation with XEN/Works.
- Another proposal for infrastructure development for reduction of cycle time of rolling
stock is under accounts vetting.
- The provision of Fire detection and suppression system in AC coaches and Power cars is an
emerging area of concern. The work is being carried out under RSP as follows –

- Work for providing new shed in wheel shop for attending Loco, DEMU and MEMU bearings
in dust free environment with sanctioned cost of Rs. 5 cr is under progress.
- A Proposal for augmentation of berthing capacity to deal all types of wagons including
BTPGLN has been vetted by HQ finance and is currently under approval at Railway Board.
- There has been an issue of premature failure in BTPGLN wagons turned out from the
workshop on account of failure of valves. The valves, repaired by third party through
contract, develop leaks at critical sites that amounts to major NPOH bookings. The issue is
being analyzed at RDSO level.
- Welding of wagon body and bogie components is an important area of concern. Welders
are being sent for training and refresher courses vide JPO no. NWR/HQ/M/WS/12/08
dated 21.02.2022 and the current state of welders in the shop is as follows-

- Developing a wheel pool for ROH depot is an important issue for servicing BOXN and BLC
wheels according to open-line demand.

Diesel POH Shop

- A huge product – mix is being handled by the Diesel POH shop. While the shop used to
carry out POH of only Diesel Locomotives, it is attending DEMU, MEMU, Tower Cars, SPART
and other types of motive power stocks that needs supply of a variety of material. Despite
regular efforts for supply of material, delay in assistance from other units affects the cycle
time of POH critically for these product mix.
