Thank God for the presence of Allah SWT. Thanks to his mercy and blessings, the author
was given good health and the opportunity to complete this paper.

This paper was written with the aim of fulfilling the assignment for the English For Specific
Purposes course from Mrs. Sri Hartati, M. Pd. Apart from that, the preparation of this paper
aims to increase readers' insight into English for the specific topic "Digital Marketing".

The author expresses his thanks to Mrs. Sri Hartati, M. Pd as lecturer in the English For
Specific Purpose course. Thanks to this assignment, the writer can broaden his insight
regarding the given topic. The author also expresses his deepest gratitude to all parties who
helped in the process of preparing this paper.

The author realizes that in compiling and writing he still makes many mistakes. Therefore,

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

English For Spesific Purpose (ESP) has a role in developing the student’s competence
if the learning programs and materials are designed and developed based on their needs.
Language coverage in ESP in certain cases is different from general English. ESP programs
and materials are goal-oriented, therefore it needsto be understood that English has funcition
and role as a tool of communication in conveying thoughts and feelings to others. The well-
designed and developed ESP programs and materials are expected to have a role to improve
thei English competence specifically.

DISCUSSION

A. Definition Of English For Specific Purpose (ESP)


Robinson (1991) defines that the core of ESP teaching aims to determine as clearly as
possible what students must do through the medium of English.
According to Hutchinson et.al (1987) ESP is a language teaching approach where all
decisions regarding content and methods are based on students' reasons for learning.

B. Definition Of Business (Digital Marketing)


 Business

Business refers to activities or activities carried out to gain profit through the
production, sale or exchange of goods or services.

 Digital Marketing
Digital Marketing is a marketing practice that uses digital media and online platforms
to contact, reach, and connect with target audiences.

audience interaction.
 Expanding our reach to new demographics is essential for business growth.
 Optimizing product pages with compelling visuals and detailed descriptions has led to
higher conversion rates.
 Developing a mobile app allowed us to engage with customers on-the-go and provide
personalized offers.
 Engaging with our audience through interactive content on Instagram has resulted in
increased brand loyalty.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the use of English for specific purposes in the digital marketing
business field is very important for effective and successful communication in an increasingly
complex digital marketing environment. Understanding specialized vocabulary and phrases in
English related to SEO, SEM, PPC, SMM, and other aspects of digital marketing allows
professionals to communicate clearly and efficiently in planning, executing, and analyzing
their digital marketing strategies. By using proper English, they can understand and apply key
concepts such as engagement, conversion, ROI, and other metrics to optimize their campaign
performance. Therefore, understanding English for certain purposes in the digital marketing
business field is an important aspect for business success and growth in today's digital era.
