Prepositions of time: at, in, on

Practice 1:

 Christians celebrate Christmas on December 25th.


 I don’t like driving at night because it’s very dark.
 In ancient times, people believed in many gods.
 Rock and roll music became popular in the 1950s
 I’m really busy at the moment. Can you call me back later?
 Are you going to see the fireworks display at New Year’s Eve?
 Jack arrived late for work on Monday morning.
 In Europe and the United States, most people do not work on
Sundays.

 If everybody speaks at the same time, we’ll never understand
each other.

Practice 2:

 A: That’s a pity. Are you doing anything on the weekend?


 S: Well, on Saturday, I’m meeting an old friend. We played
football (-) last year. But I’m free on Sunday.
 A: Great. How would you like to go tot he theater to see the new
James Bond movie?
 S: Sounds good. What time are they showing the movie?
 A: The movie strats at 8 o’clock. But we should try to get there a
little early. The move theather gets pretty busy in the evening.
S: What’s the movie like?
 A: I’ve heard it’s the best James Bond movie ever.
 S: We’ll see. I prefer the ones that came out in the 1960s and
70s.
 A: I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! So shall we meet at around 7:30?
 S: Sounds good. We should do this more often in the future.
 A: Yes, we should. There will be a few more interesting movies
(-) next weekend too.
 S: Great! So, see you on Sunday evening!
