METHOD STATEMENT WATERPROOFING OF SUMP (EXTERNALLY) WITH

4MM THICK APP MODIFIED BITUMINOUS TORCH-ON MEMBRANE “NILOBIT


PN/FN”

1.0 Horizontal Application

1.1 Lean concrete /mortar should be evenly finished, if the surface is uneven lay cement /sand
mortar to receive the membrane.

1.2 Prime the dry surface with bituminous primer, “DERMA PRIMER” or in the case of damp
surfaces which cannot be dried properly lay membrane loosely without primer.

1.3 Lay “NILOBIT PN/FN”4mm thick APP modified torch -on waterproofing membrane as
per manufacturer's specifications.

1.4 Protect the waterproof membrane with cement /sand screed layer (min 15mm)

2.0 Vertical Application

2.1 Clean the existing surface to be free of dust, cement laitance, grout deposits, etc

2.2 Prime the dry surface with Bituminous Primer, “DERMA PRIMER” or in the case of
damp surfaces which cannot be dried properly lay membrane loosely without primer

2.3 Lay “NILOBIT PN/FN” 4mm thick APP modified torch-on membrane about 300mm
above the finished ground level as per manufacturer's specifications

2.4 Termination on wall up to (300mm)

2.5 On completion of the sheet membrane and aluminum script will be nailed at the top
termination point of the sheet membrane and fill with “DERMA FLASH”

2.6 Install "ALUMINUM TERMINATION STRIP" sealed with "DERMA FLASH"

2.7 Fix / place protection boards/polystyrene boards or any other approved system to
protect the membrane from damage at time of back filling
