HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS

Specific safety measures have to follow as applicable, and all the safety measures are covered
separately in the project safety plan.

STORAGE / PROTECTION

• 63A MCCB and Accessories shall be care to avoid any damages. Every precaution shall
be taken to preserve their cleanliness before installation. Store in accordance with
manufacturer’s instructions, properly protected from construction activities and weather
conditions.

REMOVAL OF EXISTING 160A MCCB

• To ensure that the new 63A MCCB will match with the existing breaker to avoid the delay
of Work.

• Request to shutdown permit work for isolated power supply from SMDB for replace the
MCCB

• Without implementing and following a safe system of work, workers engaged in electrical
switchgear maintenance work are vulnerable to various safety and health hazards.

• Securing the safety and health at work for the electrical switchgear maintenance work
requires the full commitment and co-operation of everyone concerned, from the
proprietors to the workers.

• Switch off the breaker from feeding panel then ensure the power supply is isolated from
MSB-1A1

• Use a cordless drill or a screwdriver to remove the screws of the panel's outer cover.
Support the cover with your free hand to keep it in place while unscrewing the last couple
of screws, so the heavy panel doesn't drop down.

• Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm the power is off. Identify the breaker you are
removing.

• Check the incoming cable terminals by using multi-meter for to ensure the power supply
are isolated.

• Open panel door and remove the top protective cover for SMDB.

• Switched OFF main breaker and outgoing breaker for SMDB.

• Remove the terminal screw of the circuit breaker and remove the mount screws from base
plate then pull the breaker from the bus bar (Carefully remove the existing 160A MCCB
from the SMDB.

INSTALLATION OF 63A MCCB ON THE SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01

(RISER LD- PODIUM
.

• To make sure that the entire installation is in conformance and in accordance with the
project for the Electrical and Low Voltage System in addition to the specification and as
per approved by client

• Insert new 63A MCCB breaker on proper position without any physical damage

• Tighten the mount screws on the base plate and then tighten the terminal screw of the
circuit breaker with proper torque to the bus bar (Carefully connected the new 63A MCCB
on the SMDB.

• Prior to the cable termination, check the installation of breaker, check for any damage
and check for its functioning

• Drill required holes in the glands for outgoing cables of DB-LP KIOSK inside the Kiosk at
ADNH canteen area first floor, (Podium Area).

• Before pulling of the outgoing cable to the SMDB panel, insulation resistance test
should be carried out for cable so Apply a voltage of 500 volts DC for cable & record
the values.

• Pull of the outgoing cables into the SMDB panel and wire them into the terminal block as
per the wiring diagram supplied.

• Ensure that the wiring termination to the LV Switchgear are complete & are tight &secure.

• Ensure that the earthing of the LV Switchgear has been completed.

• Check the termination of the cables to the MCCB terminal are tightened to the required
torque using torque wrench.

• Remove all tools and equipment from site and from inside the installed equipment

• Check manually the new 63A MCCB breakers in the SMDB panel.
PRECOMMISSIONING PROCEDURE FOR SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01
(RISER LD- PODIUM & DB-LP KIOSK

• Ensure that the installation of 63A MCCB with cable termination is complete and all
mechanical & electrical comments on installation are completed. Ensure that no damage
has occurred between mechanical completion & pre-commissioning.

• Ensure that the breaker is properly tagged & identified location wise and service wise as
specified.

• Ensure that the wiring termination to the SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01 (RISER LD- PODIUM &
DB-LP KIOSK are complete, tight & secure.

• Ensure that the outgoing cables from the SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01 (RISER LD- PODIUM &
DB-LP KIOSK are terminated in the respective Distribution Boards /equipment.

• Ensure that the earthing of the SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01 (RISER LD- PODIUM & DB-LP
KIOSK has been completed.

• Check manually all the breakers in the SMDB-DSB-1AP-LD01 (RISER LD- PODIUM &
DB-LP KIOSK.

• Check the termination of the cables to the bus bars are tightened properly.

COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE FOR SMDB

• Ensure that all the pre-commissioning checks are carried out successfully.

• The incoming supply of the Submain Distribution Board (SMDB shall be energized from
MSB-1A1 & the supply shall be measured for current & voltage.

• The outgoing feeders shall be energized one by one & the supply shall be measured for
current & voltage.

• Check the metering functions for proper operation & correct readings.

• Check the circuit breakers on/off function.

COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE FOR DB-LP KIOSK

• Ensure that all the pre-commissioning checks are carried out successfully.

• The incoming supply of the Submain Distribution Board DB-LP KIOSK shall be energized
from DSB-1AP-LD01 (RISER LD-PODIUM) & the supply shall be measured for current &
voltage.

• The outgoing feeders shall be energized one by one & the supply shall be measured for
current & voltage.

• Check the circuit breakers on/off function.
