Fersino Daniele – Writing Task 2, part 1:

After the online discussion we have watched yesterday I want to explain which are the most
important factors to consider when choosing a college. First of all, I want to start talking about
the cost: if you have to choose between more colleges, you have to distinguish which are the
cheapest and which are the most expensive ones (the most expensive are usually those ones
with the biggest reputation). Then you have to know your budget, because if you choose a
college that you can’t afford, you could be forced to work to make money. This could have a
bad impact on your studies, because it requires a bigger effort, and could also affect your
mental stability, making impossible for you to have good results. Another thing that should be
considered is the career prospects that a college could give to you. Knowing the job you
would like to do is a good starting point before choosing a college, because this could make
your ideas cleaner and could help you to make the right choice. It’s important to inquire about
the quality of the study path of the course that you are going to undertake, because
companies always look for qualified people. During your studies is important to acquire a lot
of abilities if you want to have a rewarding job, and some courses are not good enough to
make you prepared for the job you are going to do. It’s important to make the right choice,
because a wrong one could be critical for your future.
Fersino Daniele – Writing Task 2, part 2:

Dear manager,
I have read about the opportunity to be selected for a short placement in another city and I
am really interested in this. I think I am suitable for this experience because I have an excellent
ability to adapt to foreign places, and also because of my qualifications. I have great skills in
the informatic scope, because I have undertaken different courses during my study path, and I
also have great comunication skills. I actually have a very important role in the company
because I direct a lot of informatic activities: my main roles are to write programs in different
programming languages and to communicate with the biggest companies to negotiate. I also
think that this experience could be very beneficial for me but also for the organisation for
plenty of reasons: I have a lot of tasks to do in this period and I am actually working very hard,
so I think that changing place for a short period of time could be useful to make me more
productive, because it could free my mind from stress and problems. Then I could bring
different advantages to the organisation because I could make a good impression on the
biggest companies, opening the opportunity to collaborate with them, thanks to my different
skills and for my devotion to work. I really hope that you would considerate me as a valid
candidate for this experience and I look forward to hearing from you.
