Promotional Models Versus Brand Ambassodors

The lingo that staffing agencies use can be somewhat confusing to both clients and staff. Since
promotional models come at a steeper cost to our clients it’s important to explain the difference
in terminology, we want to clarify what each of these titles means so you have a deeper
understanding.

As a client you should be certain your receiving the right staff for your event.

This following will cover the basic differences between promotional models and brand
ambassadors.

Promotional Models
Promotional Models are different than Brand Ambassadors in some ways, but also they are the
same. By different, we don’t mean as people but as a category of event staff.

Most commonly, promotional models are associated with male or female staff who help to
promote liquor products in bars or restaurants.

The general rule is this: All promotional models are brand ambassadors but not all Brand
Ambassadors are Promotional Models, confusing huh? Let us explain…

The word ‘Model’ really throws people for a loop, and for good reason. You don’t have to be a
professional model like Juice Tsile to be a promotional model.

When you hire us to provide you promotional models, it just means that you are requesting a
more specific type of person.

For example, if Client X calls and says they need six 6-foot tall, green-eyed athletic people to
help promote a health food product that is a much different request than asking for 6 enthusiastic
people to go out and promote your brand.

1. They have to be at least 6 feet tall

2. They need to have green eyes
3. They need to be athletic

Since it takes any event-staffing agency longer to find six people that fit these physical
requirements they would fall under the “Promotional Models” category.

For these types of events, staff usually need to fulfill certain physical requirements in order to fit
into the pre-made uniforms that the brand is providing.
At Juice promotions, we don’t want to let the term ‘model’ scare people away from jobs they are
excited about. If the brand ambassador job description matches your qualifications go for it!

Brand Ambassadors

Brand Ambassador” is a term that covers all types of event staff including street teams,
promotional staff, event staff, trade show hosts and hostess.

They are the people on the front lines at your event, engaging and entertaining your consumer on
the benefits of your brand or service. Common traits of any great Brand Ambassador include
being easy to talk to, out-going, friendly and adaptable.

Our Juice Dolls are thoroughly trained on the important universal rules that apply to all Brand
Ambassadors, no matter what brand they are promoting.

During training we reinforce the importance of being enthusiastic and energetic, engagement
tactics, what NOT to do and much more. This foundational training is key, but it’s only the
beginning. Brand Ambassadors also need to be trained on the brand or service they are
representing. After all, that’s what they were hired for!

If you are putting together training for any team of Brand Ambassador here are a few things to
keep in mind.

 Keep it short. Nobody will remember more than a few key talking points so focus on
what you really want your potential customer to learn about your brand at the event.
 Make it fun! By adding in some jokes and a little flavor it will keep your staff’s interest
during long training sessions.
 Test them. Juice Promotions has a pre-event test built into our system to ensure that
any brand ambassador we put into the field has absorbed the information you provided
and is able to communicate your brand messaging effectively.(To all Juice Dolls please
study the notes as you are all going to write a test soon )

 To sum it up, if somebody is talking about your brand or service at an event you can
consider them brand ambassadors.
