Construction Notes
Anemone Sweater features an allover Fair Isle flower pattern and ribbed edges. The sweater is knit using 1
strand of Merino and 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout, and it is a perfect project for
playing with different color combinations and for using up some of your smaller amounts of leftover yarn.

Anemone Sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round to the underarms. Work is then divided, and
front and back are worked back and forth up to the shoulders. Sleeve stitches are then picked up, and
sleeves worked in the round from the top down. Finally, stitches for the folded neckband are picked up and
the neckband finished in rib.

As an alternative to working the yoke back and forth, the entire sweater can be worked in the round and
then steeked (cut). You will find alternative instructions in the pattern for how to work the sweater in the
round with additional steek stitches. There are, however, no actual instructions on how to reinforce the
steek, cut or finish the steek edges afterwards, and you are advised to use your own preferred methods for
this. If you are new to steeking, this is not a good first-time pattern for learning, and we recommend that
you work the yoke back and forth instead if this is the case.

Contrast Colors
CC 1 (stems and leaves): 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s) Merino + 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s) Soft Silk Mohair.
CC 2 (flower heads): either 1 ball Merino + 1 ball Soft Silk Mohair in 5 different colorways (as in sample), or 1
(1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2) ball(s) Merino + 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s) Soft Silk Mohair in only one colorway if all
flower heads will be in the same color.

Notes on the Fair Isle Technique

We recommend using the Fair Isle technique when working in the round with multiple colors at the same
time. On those rounds of the chart where you alternate between colors, both the strand with the main
color and the strand with the contrast color are carried at the back of the work, creating horizontal strands,
or floats, on the wrong side of your work. When you knit using the main color, the strand of contrast color
travels behind the stitches until it is ready to be used again, and vice versa. Make sure to check your gauge
as you work, as your gauge working back and forth might be different from your gauge working in the
round.

Chart Notes
When you work from charts, always start from the bottom right corner with the first stitch of Row 1 (unless
the pattern indicates otherwise), and work the chart from the bottom up. If you are working in the round,
work the chart from right to left on all rounds. If you are working back and forth, work the chart from right
to left on odd numbered rows (RS) and from left to right on even numbered rows (WS). If there is a black
frame indicating repeats in the chart, you start with the stitches on one side of the frame and work these
one time first. Then you work and repeat the framed section as many times as indicated or possible and
end by working the stitches on the other side of the frame one time.

You will find a detailed guide on how to read charts that features examples from our patterns if you go to
