The Early Times of Telephones
THE INVENTION OF THE TELEPHONE
The telephone was invented in 1876 by Graham Bell. He was awarded the first
U.S. patent for the invention of the telephone. His first phone call was made to his
assistant Watson, requesting that he come over. The Bell Telephone company
later constructed the first official telephone line. Did you know where it was first
displayed at? It was displayed at the Centennial Exposition, in Philadelphia.

After Tivadar Puskás proposed the telephone switchboard exchange in 1876

phone calls were performed by an operator. Almon B Strowger put an end to that
by inventing an automatic telephone system, this came into the bell system in the
1920’s.

GRAHAM BELL: Alexander Graham Bell was a scottish-born inventor, scientist

and engineer He was also the co-founder of the AT&T Company in 1885.
