Bangladeshi Consumer Electronics Brands are Expanding Globally

Bangladesh has a lot of potential in the electronic technology industry. But it has a lot of potential
in the overseas market. Electronic products have been used over the years. So, people rarely
purchase those items. With a huge market size, Bangladesh's consumer electronics industry is one
of the country's fastest-growing industries. Walton is the most prominent among them. Besides,
Vision the concern of Pran RFL group’s concern, Symphony, Jamuna electronics also doing so. In
this formerly entirely import-dependent industry, local brands now dominate the majority of
product categories. For foreign brands, Samsung has also started producing locally as a result of
domestic firms' success in satisfying local market demand. In actuality, domestic brands are also
exporting to the international market after satisfying local customer needs.

The Consumer Electronics Sector in Bangladesh is composed of three different types of appliance
categories: large appliances, electronic appliances, and small appliances. Additionally, among the
large retailers in the nation's electronics industry, Walton holds the most significant market share
in all three categories, making it unsustainable for other businesses to serve primarily domestic
customers. As a result, other companies are now both serving Bangladesh and exporting. As a
result, Walton is also in the top place for electronics and small appliances exports.

Many local brands followed the footsteps of Walton in terms of expanding their businesses
overseas. As a result, local consumer electronics companies such as - Vision, Symphony, MyOne,
Singer, Jamuna etc. are playing a significant part in terms of expanding the whole industry by
manufacturing consumer electronic goods to accommodate local consumer needs. This also allows
the manufacturer to avail competitive pricing benefits compared to the foreign brands considering
the product availability and reasonable pricing. Besides, these local brands have expanded into
nations with low entry barriers and are less competitive.
