to Ameri-Vent Model R Model R Adjustable
Sections may be used to connect Model R to Ameri-
Vent Model G. Adjustable Sections may also be used
to compensate for linear thermal expansion between
two fixed points in the vent system. An example of
this is shown in Fig. 4. In this example the clamping
device is not used. This allows for expansion between
two fixed supports, or between a fixed support and
the appliance.

I Fie. 3
4. Mounting holes are provided around the perimeter
of the SP. Use appropriate fasteners to secure the im m
Support Plate halves to the opening between floors.

NOTE: SP should be attached to the top of the

opening only see Fig. 4

5. For multi-story installations, an Adjustable Length

Section of Type B G a s Vent should be installed
between each pair of locations where a support is Section
used. This allows the location of the lower pipe recess im
to be in the proper position at each opening where a
support is to be used. The Adjustable Length Section
also provides relief for linear thermal expansion. The
Adjustable Length Section should be positioned
directly under the Vent Pipe Section which is being
supported.

NOTE: When installed with the entire vent in a

vertical position as shown in Fig. 4, the clamps on
the AdjustableLength Section should be left loose
to allow for expansion. See Section ,titled Fig. 4
"Adjustable Length Section" next on these
instructions.
NOTE: The clamping means should be left loose
Adjustable Length Sections only if the vent and the Adjustable Length
Sections are installed vertically. If the Adjustable

Elbows and Offsets
The Model ' G Type B Gas Vent is available in an
offset of 45 degrees. Two Elbows can also be
combined to produce a 90 degree offset. See Tables
No.1, and No. 2 for relative dimensions of the
combinations of offsets. Whenever the Model 'G' Gas
Vent stack is changed from a vertical direction with
either a Tee, Wye, or Offset the vent system must be
resupported by using either a Support Plate or an
acceptable support method before and after the
change in direction. The support should provide rigid
stability, both vertically and horizontally - see Fig. 5.
