Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, a place for new beginnings! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please remember to sign the attendance folder at your pew so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity.

that burden alone. You can have a Stephen Minister who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you are interested in providing or receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 4497020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you. All men in the church are invited to the Community Mens Breakfast and Bible Study, which meets here at the church every Tuesday morning from 6:00 7:00. This small group has great meaning to the men who attend and is a way of helping some man who may not go to a church on Sundays to feel more comfortable in this relaxed, informal setting.

Ministries/Activities within Our Church

After church today we need a few hands to help put up the large tree in the sanctuary and do a few other small things so that we will be ready for the Hanging of the Green service tonight at 6:00. The Yard Work around the church grounds was postponed yesterday and will be re-scheduled. We will let you know when the new date is set. Thanks to everyone who signed up to come. Childrens Christmas Play. Ben will be producing this years play again and needs a LOT of volunteers to make this a success. There are pictures on our website of previous years plays. Ben needs more children to participate, and will announce when play practices are scheduled. New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. We are blessed by hearing the choir, and those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00. Stephen Ministry Got a burden? Thought for the Week

During his 1960 presidential campaign, John F. Kennedy often closed his speeches with the story of Colonel Davenport, the Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives: On May 19th, 1780 the sky of Hartford darkened ominously, and some of the representatives, glancing out the windows, feared the end was at hand. Quelling a clamor for immediate adjournment, Davenport rose and said, "The Day of Judgment is either approaching or it is not. If it is not, there is no cause for adjournment. If it is, I choose to be found doing my duty. Therefore, I wish that candles be brought." Rather than fearing what is to come, we are to be faithful till Christ returns. Instead of fearing the dark, we're to be lights as we watch and wait.
