Integrity Garden Analogy

Structure:

In my life plan, the structure is a big garden filled with a variety of plants, fruits, and

different flowers. Each plant and fruit represents a different aspect of my life, and all the other

flowers around me represent my friends and my loved ones, and they all add in and contribute to

the garden's beauty and community. The soil symbolizes my values and morals that are the whole

foundation for the garden which is my whole life.

Style:

Each plant and flower in the garden is unique in its own way. It has its own purpose,

scent, taste, and appearance. This represents the diverse friends I have and how they are all

different and bring a variety of good things into my life. I lived in the Bay Area my whole life

but then moved to Temecula sophomore year. I met so many new friends and now I have life

long friends here on top of my friends from the Bay Area. The diversity of the plants and flowers

symbolize this, as they all are very different but bring harmony to the garden, similar to how my

friends bring harmony and love to my life.

Cohesion:
In my life, my connection and cohesion comes from my support system which are my

family and friends. In a garden, the gardener makes sure all the plants stay nurtured and grow up

healthy, and this symbolizes my parents. My parents have worked very hard to get me where I

am. They immigrated to the USA at a very young age where they worked from nothing to get

where they are today to provide me with a good education and many opportunities. The soil and

fertilizer and the plants grow from are the shared foundation of how healthy they are and how

they grow. My parents, the gardeners of my life, provided me with the best soil to give me the

morals and goals I have today, which also connects me with the people around me.

Strength:

My strength comes from my shared experiences with others. In a garden, among all other

things, one shared experience the plants and flowers have is pollination. The bees go from one

flower to another spreading the pollen throughout the garden and bringing more harmony. When

I go through hardships or difficult times in my life that bring out weakness, I go to my friends

and family who support me through thick. Even though we are all very different, we all have the

shared emotions, feelings, and experiences that bring us together. Having a close knit community

is something very important to me and something that I desire for my future because my friends

and family are what get me through stressful times in my life and always have my back.

Durability:

Even when plants start to wither in the garden, they are watered again and the sunlight

shines on them the next day and they are refreshed again, and if not, they have seeds in them that

allow them to start over. Even if my plans don’t work out how I would like them to or if I have
moments when I am feeling lost or down, I’ve learned that it's okay to start over and that I have a

new day to try again and just plant new seeds.

Direction:

My whole community and new people I meet keep me going forward. When the flowers

grow in the garden, some of them are picked to become beautiful bouquets and are placed with

other flowers to add to the beauty of the bouquet. When I meet new people, a lot of them add

new beauty to my life and give me motivation and hope to keep moving forward because of the

new possibilities and beauties that are ahead of me. The garden grows and flourishes with help

from the whole community and all little aspects of the garden, which applies heavily to my life

and my community.
