employees like yourself and we will greatly value your contribution to our success, and we
believe in rewarding employee participation.

Every candidate referred by you, should have in spirit, word and action, the integrity we
emphasize as an organization. It is the quality of employees like you that makes WIPRO a
leading Employer of Choice.

Compromising on the authenticity of the candidate is not an option. It is essential that you
as a stakeholder provide the right applicant who is also known to you personally.

1. SCOPE
This policy describes Wipro LTD. & Wipro DOP directives as a part of the Employee
Referral Program for all employees at the time of referring external candidates for
employment at Wipro LTD. & Wipro DOP across all global locations and functions. This
ER policy supersedes all previous versions.

2. PURPOSE
This Policy document is prepared to have a set of uniform criteria for Wipro’s Global
Employee Referral Program. The parameters outlined in the Program provide directives
to employees of all countries unless exceptions are required for legal or country specific
reasons.
Exceptions and deviations from the Global Policy must be approved by the Business
Unit Head & Head TA/ Head Leadership Hiring/Head TA DOP.
It provides an opportunity to collaborate with our competent employees & encourage
them in referring dynamic people, thereby rewarding their contribution in attracting
new talent to the organization.

3. ELIGIBILITY, TERMS & CONDITIONS

A) EMPLOYEE ELIGIBLITY (who can refer)

• All permanent employees of Wipro Ltd & its acquired companies across all
geographical locations shall be able to participate in the referral program and refer
external candidates for full time positions that are notified through the Wiplinks
portal under this scheme periodically.
• With respect to Wipro Technologies (WT), all the WASE / WISTA members shall
also be eligible to participate in this program.
• Prospective employees/ Pending Joiners who have received formal offer of
employment through the Application tracking system (ATS) of Wipro LTD. and are
yet to join shall also be eligible to refer through the Wipro Careers Site.
o Referring candidates via Career site would not attract a referral benefit,
w.e.f. 15th April’22.
o Only when the Pending Joiner becomes a Wipro employee and further
refers via the Employee Referral Portal – Wiplinks, will he/she be eligible
for referral benefit.
• All employees of WT can refer prospective candidates for DOP and all employees
of DOP can refer prospective candidates for WT.
o The benefit disbursement to the referrer will depend on the organisation
(WT or DOP) and location of the new joiner.

• All employees including trainees & retainers on the rolls of Wipro DOP are covered
under this policy. However, this policy does not apply to the employees of the
following groups for their referrals joining in Wipro DOP:

• For DOP, in case, an employee refers a candidate to a job requisition that is opened
outside the employee’s payroll location (referrer’s country of employment), the
referral bonus will be invalid. Employees should refer candidates to requisitions
located within their payroll location to be eligible for the referral bonus.

B) APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY (who can be referred) -

• Employees can refer Friends, Relatives or Ex-colleagues (known personally prior to


referral).
• Candidates can be referred to any suitable job requisition which is reflecting on the
Employee Referral Portal - Wiplinks.
• Candidates can be referred to multiple job requisitions based on their suitability.

Note:
• A profile referred will be valid and eligible for referral bonus only till the life of the referred
job requisition and only when the profile is hired for the referred job requisition.
• In case duplicate resumes of a candidate are found tagged to a single requisition, source
through which the resume entered the system first shall be considered; resumes through
other sources shall be treated as duplicate and invalid.

C) EMPLOYEE REFERRAL POLICY DIRECTIVES ON THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

• The referring employee shall not be a part of the recruiting process for the relevant
role and shall not influence the selection of the referred candidate, to ensure a fair,
independent and equal selection process.
• No Mock interviews/ readiness should be conducted by Employees. Employees
must not share or discuss any Wipro related knowledge with the candidate they
refer.
• The referring employee must have personal knowledge of the candidate he or she
is referring. At the time of referring, the employee must sign the declaration,
confirming that they personally know the candidate and have taken their consent
for referring their profile to jobs within Wipro.
• Candidates from organizations with whom Wipro LTD. has an active no-poach
agreement OR is a part of Wipro’s Do Not Hire list, shall not be considered for
employment with Wipro LTD.
• To be eligible for Employee Referral bonus, the employee must refer the candidate
via the Wiplinks Portal, and the candidate must apply to the job using the auto
triggered application link sent in their email inbox at the time of referral. Only then
would the source for that profile will be captured as ‘Employee Referral’, and the
employee would be eligible for referral benefit.
• Candidates are to disclose any experience in Own/Relative/Spouse Owned firm.

D) ELIGIBILITY REFERRAL BENEFIT PAYOUT

An employee shall be considered eligible for referral payout only if all the following
conditions are met:

• With respect to WT referrals:


If a referred candidate is selected by Wipro WT & joins Wipro WT, the referred
candidates must have more than or equal to 3 years (36 months) of relevant
experience at the time of offer for the employee to be eligible for referral bonus
according to TABLE 2(a).

• Any referrals of candidates between 0-36 months of relevant experience, would
be considered for referral benefit only if there was a specific scheme applicable
for such referrals.
• The candidates must be hired at Band B1 or above, for the referring employees
to be eligible for bonus.
• The Band and experience criteria of 36 months is exempted only for candidates
joining in the following geographies – o Taiwan – for candidates who join at A3
band, the referrer will be eligible for bonus.
o Poland and Romania Service Desk Hiring – for candidates who join at
bands A3, B1 and B2; the referrer will receive bonus as per the language
criteria mentioned in TABLE 2(b).

• With respect to DOP referrals:


If a referred candidate is selected by Wipro DOP & joins Wipro DOP, referral
bonus will be paid according to the DOP TABLE 3 on page 11, TABLE 4 on page
12 and on section d geographical differences from page 13 until page 19.

• With respect to WT & DOP referrals:


o Employees must refer using the Employee Referral portal - Wiplinks on
MyWipro, for offshore as well as onsite referrals. Resumes shared over
email, or any offline method are not valid and not considered as Referrals.
o Referred candidate should be personally known to the employee prior to
referral.
o The amount for the referral benefits would be as per the policy, any special
incentives schemes/campaigns would be communicated through
Wiplinks/Employee Referral Mailers that are shared based on business
requirements.
o The background verification process for the referred candidate must follow
the standard Wipro/ Account specific requirements and must be clear of any
discrepancies. No referral benefit will be disbursed if the referred candidate
fails the background verification process.
o The referred employee and the newly joined employee must be an active
employee of Wipro Ltd. at the time of payment of referral bonus.
o Referral bonus will be applicable to the employees based on their Business
Unit/Delivery Unit/Service Line/Support Function and role at the time of
referring the candidate.

Note:
• In case the referrer is in notice period at the time when the referred candidate joins,
referral bonus will be paid along with Full & Final Settlement, if pending. In case of an
employee whose full & final settlement is also closed, Wipro does not take the
responsibility of making this payment in any other manner. Any exceptions will need to be
discussed with HRSS & Hiring Employee referral team.
• Any referral payout to employees, for candidates joining after the policy revision shall be
as per the latest version of the policy active.

E) NON-ELIGIBILITY REFERRAL BENEFIT PAYOUT

With respect to WT referrals; the following groups of employees can refer prospective
candidates but will not be eligible for Referral benefit:
• Employees in Human Resource (HR), Talent Acquisition (Technical Recruitment Team
& Strategic Recruitment Team), WMG team, Reporting Managers (L1 and L2), Human
Resource Shared Services (HRSS) aligned to any recruitment process and Career Band
E are not eligible for the referral benefits but can refer prospective candidates through
Wiplinks subject to satisfying all the criteria stated in clause 3A.
• Contract, Contract to hire & retainers are not eligible for referral bonus.
• Candidates joined as Contract and Hired later will not be eligible for referral benefit
as long as they are under their Contract tenure.
o Once they become permanent employees of Wipro, they will be eligible for
referral benefits, provided all criteria under clause 3 A, B, C and D are
satisfied.
• Referral benefits are not applicable for referring a fresher and campus hires unless
stated in the referral campaign.

With respect to DOP referrals:


• Referring campus hires is not eligible & for eligibility details please refer TABLE 1 in
clause 3A
• Wef 31-Mar-2018, For B2+ BANDs Joiners under DOP, No Hiring Manager & their
respective Hierarchy Up will be eligible for Referral Payouts. This change is
irrespective whether Hiring Manager was a Panelist in the same interview or not.
• Reporting Managers (L1 and L2) and Hiring Managers are not eligible for referral
rewards.

With respect to DOP & WT referrals:
• Candidates who are sourced from portals/databases, walk-ins, and candidates
personally not known to the employee cannot be referred or attract referral benefits.
• Resumes shared over mails will not be eligible for referral bonus payouts.
• If the source for the referred profile is not captures as Employee Referral on the ATS,
the referring employee will not be eligible for Bonus.
• Referrals made via the Careers site by using the option – ‘Email this Job to a Friend’,
by existing Wipro employees or Pending Joiners will not attract referral benefits.
• Inviting candidates to upload their profiles on the career site directly, will not attract
referral benefits

4. EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PATH

Employees can view current job opportunities at Wipro LTD. on Wiplinks, accessible
through MyWipro and refer a candidate against the current openings available.

After an employee refers a candidate, an email will be auto - triggered to the


candidate with the link for the referred job requisition to complete their
application; once candidate completes this process only then the source for that
candidate’s profile would be captured as Employee Referral and it would be
considered as a valid referral.

5. REFERRAL BENEFITS – with respect to WT

a) THE REFERRAL SCHEME

For every candidate joining WT through Employee Referral Program, the employee
referring the candidate is eligible for the benefits, as per the matrix given below only.

The principles for referral scheme applicability and payout are as follows:
• The currency of payment will depend on the payroll location of the referring
employee at the time of disbursement of the referral benefits.
• Exchange rate conversion applicable in the month of disbursement of referral
benefits would be applicable.
• Referral Bonus will be applicable as per the joining location of the candidates.

c) REFERRAL PAYOUT PROCESSING (WT)

• Referral payment processing will take place along with the payroll processing.
• Offshore (India) referral payout processing: Payment to the referring employee will
be processed along with the payroll in the same month if the referred candidate
joins before the 20th day of the month. If the referred candidate joins on or after the
20th day of the month then the payment will be processed along with the
subsequent month’s payroll.
• US referral payout processing: referral benefits will be processed along with the
payroll in pay- cycle 2.
• Other GEOs payout processing: referral benefit will be processed in the subsequent
month after the joining of the referred candidate.
• All Referral Payouts and Benefits are taxable as per the prevailing tax rates in the
country of payment. Taxes will be deducted at source as per the prevailing laws, and
the balance will be paid.
• In deputation cases, where-in the referred candidate is deputed to a long-term
onsite location, the referral benefits to the referring employee will be processed
basis the onsite scheme.
• Any special benefits or prizes over and above the regular benefits will also attract
taxes as applicable by law of the country of payment.
• If the referring employee is on net salary model, the referral bonus will be processed
after the statutory deductions (Tax, social security etc.)
• Instances of delay in receiving incentive / incorrect payout etc. need to be intimated
to the Wiplinks SPOC by 10th of the current month so that arrears can be included in
the payout for that month. Else they will be treated in the next month’s payout

6. REFERRAL BENEFITS – with respect to DOP

For every candidate joining Wipro DOP through Employee Referral Program, the employee
referring the candidate is eligible for the benefits, as per the matrix given below only. The
principles for referral scheme applicability and payout are as follows:

• The currency of payment will depend on the payroll location of the referring
employee at the time of disbursement of the referral benefits.
• Exchange rate conversion applicable in the month of disbursement of referral
benefits would be applicable.
• Referral Bonus will be applicable as per the joining location of the candidates.
• At the time of eligibility of payment, if the employee is on a short-term onsite
assignment on B1 / Business Visa or equivalent, employee referral payment will be
processed only after their return to India.

Payout regulations for AA International referral joining –

The amount earned for an AA level referral will be disbursed in 6 installments


• The amount will be paid as per below schemes (unless mentioned otherwise)
provided the candidate is active at the time of upload.

c) REFERRAL PAYOUT PROCESSING (DOP)

• Full incentive amount for referral joining for B1 & above levels will be paid only after
the Candidates completion of 90 days
• Complete Incentive amount for referral joining for all WHRS hires would be paid only
after the candidate’s completion of 90 days
• The payout for AA level Support Function and Domestic Non Voice referral joining
will be one final payout after candidates completion of 90 days
• Payment timelines pertain to the Wipro DOP incentive payout cycle, the cut- off date
is revised to 15th of each month (for all employee referral joining w.e.f. 1st January
2012 onwards)
• Instances of delay in receiving incentive / incorrect payout etc. need to be intimated
to the Wiplinks Location SPOC by 10th of the current month so that arrears can be
included in the payout for that month. Else, they will be treated in the next month’s
payout.

• The employee referral amount would be given to the referrer in two stages. The
first payout of 50% of the employee referral amount will be given upon
successful referral’s completion of 90 days. The last payout of the remaining 50%
of the employee referral incentives will be given upon successful referral’s
completion of 180 days.

• For AA & B1 level, the employee referral amount would be given to the referrer
in three stages. The first payout of 1/3rd of the Employee Referral Amount will
be given upon successful referral’s completion of 30 days (Payout at the end of
2nd month from joining). The second payout of 1/3rd of the Employee Referral
Amount will be given upon successful referral’s completion of 60 days (Payout at
the end of the 3rd month from joining.) The third payout of 1/3rd of the
Employee Referral Amount will be given upon successful referral’s completion of
90 days (Payout at the end of the 4th month from joining.)

• For B2 to D1 level, the Employee Referral Amount would be given to the referrer
in two stages. The first payout of 60% of the Employee Referral Amount will be
given upon successful referral’s completion of 90 days (Payout at the end of 4th
month from joining.) The second payout of 40% of the Employee Referral
Amount will be given upon successful referral’s completion of 180 days
(Payout at the end of the 7th month from joining).
 Payout for all referral joining would be paid once along with the salary payout for
the end of the month payout date.

• The referral incentive will be paid out 90 days from the date on which the referred
candidate joins the company provided both the referred candidate and the person
making the referral are still employed with the company. The referral amount shall
be paid together with the first salary paid after the 90 days.

With respect to DOP ROMANIA only

• In DOP Romania, contractors that are leased staff, are eligible for employee referral
bonus. This is only applicable to Romania location.

NOTE: Any other EU country not currently covered will follow the language complexity
and payout slab falling closest to the countries covered in this policy at the discretion
of TA Head.

VI. With respect to Onyx


• Onyx employees who refer friends for Onyx account specifically would be entitled to
10,000 INR as the referral bonus (flat across bands of referral) as compared to Wipro
standard policy. The referral incentive will be paid out 90 days from the date on
which the referred candidate joins the company, provided both the referred
candidate and the person making the referral are still employed with the company.

7. REFERRAL BENEFITS PROMOTIONAL SCHEME

Any promotional scheme, run from time to time specific to a Business Unit or geography or
any other similar types would be announced through Wiplinks Referral mailers. The benefits
and conditions of the scheme would apply. All Special Referral plans have to be approved by
the TA/GSHR/ TA DOP head prior to the launch.

8. RECOVERY REFERRAL PAYOUT

• Termination of the referred candidate owing to discrepancy in background


verification will result in recovery of the paid referral amount from the salary of the
referring employee.
• No recovery of referral bonus on exit of the referred candidate
• Any deviation, which results in conflict of interest as detailed under the standard
Code of Business Conduct of Wipro LTD., will make the referral claim invalid and will
be recovered if already paid.
• In case of any dispute, the decision of the Head TA / Head Global Strategic Hiring /
Head TA- DOP/ Employee referral team will be final.

9. VALIDITY OF EMPLOYEE REFERRAL APPLICATIONS

The retention period for Employee Referral Applications is only till the life of the referred
requisitions for all lateral positions, once the requisition is closed employee can upload the
same profile to another suitable requisition.

The retention period of DOP Employee Referral Applications is 6 months from the date of
entry for all lateral positions after which the resume will be considered as inactive and will
not be considered eligible for referral benefit. Any employee can repost the resume for a
relevant job opening.
To be eligible for employee referral bonus, the candidate must be hired within 6 months
from the date of entry for all lateral positions.

10. EMPLOYEE REFERRAL POLICY VIOLATIONS

For violation of any of the below-mentioned rules, an employee shall be subject to


penalties ranging from a formal written warning notice up to and including possible
discharge.

information acquired during hiring process to unauthorized persons, or making
available such information to public

with recruiter in return for making successful referrals
• Seeking resumes via Social Media and Job Boards or posting the job details on any
platform by the referrer, to solicit resumes and use those as referrals
• Persuading or influencing the hiring selection process or allowing himself to be
persuaded, or influenced to commit such offense
• Directly engaging in falsification of any information concerning referral’s
qualifications
o Referrer or an employee falsifies a candidate’s qualifications to match the
job description
• Conducting mock interviews or readiness by recruiters
o Recruiter conducts mock interviews to candidates prior to Final Interview
o Recruiter leaks final interview questions to candidates
• Any offense similar or analogous to any of the offenses mentioned in the Company’s
Disciplinary Handbook

11. EXCLUSIONS

Talent Market Place & iMarketScape: Talent Market Place & Imarketscape are internal job
posting program for employees to apply to various job opportunities within Wipro.
Referring external candidates to requirements published in Talent Market Place &
iMarketScape without going through the WipLinks process is not considered a successful
referral for employee referral benefit.

CONTACTS
Resolution of any disputes associated with Employee Referral will be undertaken solely by
the Employee Referral Team. If necessary, the Referral Team will take the consensus of the
Head- TA/Head Global Strategic Hiring/ Head TA DOP. All decisions taken will be final.

POLICY DOCUMENT REVISION


This Employee Referral Program policy would be subject to regular modifications and
revisions as and when the need is identified. The policy document and all its directives as
applicable stated therein and uploaded onto the Wiplinks portal shall be considered as
current and valid.
