Hello families!

My name is Tracey Fallis and I am so excited to be your student’s Resource

and Inclusion teacher for the 2024 – 2025 school year! This is my first year as a Resource and

Inclusion teacher, but never fear, I have worked as a paraprofessional in a Special Education

classroom for the past 5 years. I have 2 children, Khloe and Wesley, who also attend Belton ISD

schools. I love animals of all kinds, except snakes, and sometimes help to foster and rehabilitate

animals in need. I absolutely love baseball! We spend a lot of time at the baseball field with my son.

My all-time favorite MLB team is the Chicago Cubs!

We will be using some specific technology tools that I would love to help you become

familiar with. We will use an interactive board in the classroom for video/multimedia lessons.

Interactive boards allow me to present and interact with digital content, such as videos, images,

and websites, in a way that is more interactive and engaging for students. We will take virtual field

trips periodically also. These virtual field trips provide students with the interactive, immersive

experience that allows them to gain new knowledge and skills in a fun and engaging manner.

Students will use Google Classroom to help them communicate, collaborate, organize, and

manage assignments. When students finish their independent work, they will be assigned to get on

one of the following interactive programs: EPIC!, Reading Eggs, Mathseeds, or IXL. EPIC! is kid-safe

interactive digital reading platform. This platform has over 40 thousand books, comics, learning

videos, and audiobooks for students to enjoy. Reading Eggs is a program that helps improve literacy

skills. Mathseeds is a program that helps students improve fundamental number skills. IXL uses

insights from students’ work to generate personalized skill recommendations in real time.

Students will learn about digital literacy. This is the ability to use technology to find,

evaluate, create, and communicate information. Students will learn what it means to be a good

digital citizen. This is someone who uses technology responsibly and ethically, and understands

how their actions can affect others and society. They will be taught safe, legal, and ethical practices
for participating in the digital world. Students will also be taught about what cyberbullying is and

how they can be an upstander instead of a bystander. Students will create an anti-cyberbullying

pact together that they will each sign.

If the school district ever implements Virtual Instruction, specific strategies will be used to

increase active engagement. At the beginning of synchronous sessions, there will always be some

type of fun and interactive game to help students arrive on time and ready to learn. Students will be

assigned breakout rooms during the lessons so that students are able to have discussions about

the lessons in smaller groups. This encourages active participation, facilitates meaningful

discussions, and fosters collaboration among learners. Students will also present portions of some

lessons using a jigsaw technique. This is a cooperative learning strategy that is used in virtual

learning to help students engage with material, improve comprehension, and develop listening,

communication, and problem-solving skills.

I am looking forward to this school year and all of the fun experiences your student will have

as they learn and grow. Please contact me via Remind or my email, tracey.fallis@bisd.net if you

have any questions or concerns. It’s going to be a great year!
