Gelatinous Gifts
Level Adjustment Guide
Gelatinous Gifts as written is an adventure for
4 to 5 characters of 5th to 8th level. This com-
panion guide will provide adjustments to the
encounters to allow parties of any level to save
the town of Rockhearth!
The following pages provide a breakdown
of creatures to incorporate in each encounter
depending on the level of the party. If specific
monsters are being replaced, that will be spec-
ified in the description of the encounter Use

the entries for the appropriate level range for
your party.
The encounter modifications are balanced
to be a moderate threat for the average of the
listed level range. Parties at the lowest level of
the listed range will face a tougher challenge
than parties at the highest level of the listed
range.
If your party prefers easier combat, con-
sider using the monsters from the next lowest
level range. If your party level is listed at the
top of the level range, and you enjoy deadlier
combat challenges, consider taking on the next
highest level range.
As this is a heavily themed adventure, this
level adjustment guide provides modifications
to most of the creatures in the original version
of the adventure, instead of replacing the mon-
sters. If your game uses XP values for defeated
enemies, calculate XP by the overall challenge
of the encounter at the party’s level.
Creatures by Difficulty
Level 1 Slime Sentries
Make the listed modifications to the black

 Level 9 - 12
In this version, Wert is a gray slaad who is
in league with the Demon Lord of Oozes.
The Demon Lord believes the slimes around
Rockhearth have strayed too far from their true
nature by working so harmoniously with the
humanoid settlement. Wert has been sent as an
agent of chaos to gain control of these slimes
and set out on a sticky wave of destruction.

 Level 13 - 16
In this version, Wert is a vampire who has
long hidden his true nature from Rockhearth.
As an accomplished alchemist, Wert believes
that through gaining command over slimes,
he will be able to create a potent defense
against the dreaded sunlight. The winter
solstice festival is the perfect time to act,
since it is the day of least sun throughout the
whole year.

In this version, a death knight and his
minions have emerged through a planar rift
caused by the winter solstice. Upon finding
Wert’s plans already in action, the death
knight killed the alchemist and plans to gain
control over the slimes itself in order to begin
its conquest of the Material plane.
