Reclamation of the Sky Tower
Level Adjustment Guide
Reclamation of the Sky Tower as written is
an adventure for 4 to 6 characters of 12th level.
This companion guide will provide adjustments
to the encounters to allow parties of any level to
save the town of Rockhearth!
The following pages provide a breakdown
of creatures to incorporate in each encounter
depending on the level of the party. If specific
monsters are being replaced, that will be spec-
ified in the description of the encounter Use
the entries for the appropriate level range for
your party.

The encounter modifications are balanced
to be a moderate threat for the average of the
listed level range. Parties at the lowest level of
the listed range will face a tougher challenge
than parties at the highest level of the listed
range.
If your party prefers easier combat, con-
sider using the monsters from the next lowest
level range. If your party level is listed at the
top of the level range, and you enjoy deadlier
combat challenges, consider taking on the next
highest level range.
Creatures by Difficulty
Level 1 Library
Replace the manual of bodily health with the
listed magic item.

 Level 2-4
In this version, Raxis has made a powerful
pact with a Demon Prince of undeath in order
to complete the Severing Construct. Raxis
has turned most of the tower’s residents/
guardians into foul creatures, bound to do his
bidding. Little does he know that the Demon
Prince has its own plans for the Material
plane once its magic has been drained.
The Coming Storm
Replace the young red shadow dragon with
the listed monster and modifications.
• 1 manticore
• storm deals 1d6 lightning and 1d6 thunder
damage; manticore dissipates at 28 HP
Study & Meeting Room
Replace the wights and revenant with the listed
mosters and modifications.
• 2 skeletons
• 1 poltergeist (Bell-Toller: creature is reduced
to 5 HP instead)
Raxis on the Brink
Replace Raxis with 1 night hag with the
following modifications.
• Include the Fueled by Chaos feature from
Raxis’s stat block
• Severing Construct (AC 15; 35 HP)
• Severing Construct table (2 - Regain 1d6+6 HP/
2d6 necrotic damage; 4 - 2d6 force damage)

Replace the shield guardians with the listed

Entrance Chamber
Replace the gorgon and imp with the listed
monsters and modifications.
• 1 ogre zombie (On a hit with its morningstar,
also pushes the target 5 ft. away)

3d6 fire damage.

 Level 5-8
In this version, Raxis is bent on removing
magic from the Material plane so his pet
monstrosities can spread and flourish.
Without magic to protect themselves,
civilization will fall to its knees before Raxis,
Lord of Monsters.
The Coming Storm
Replace the young red shadow dragon with
1 young black dragon with the following
modifications.
• Innate Spellcasting 1/day each: blindness/
deafness, acid arrow)
• storm deals 1d8 lightning and 1d8 thunder
damage; dragon dissipates at 50 HP
Raxis On The Brink
Replace Raxis with 1 archmage with the
following modifications.
• with ring of protection and the Fueled by Chaos
feature from Raxis’s stat block
• 15th-level spellcaster
• remove 9th-level spell slot, replace teleport
with prismatic spray, replace scrying with
telekinesis
• Severing Construct (AC 16; 50 HP)
• Severing Construct table (2 - Regain 1d8+8
HP/2d8 necrotic damage)

LANDING PLATFORM
Replace the shield guardians with the listed
monsters.
• 1 basilisk
• 1 helmed horror

Entrance Chamber
Replace the gorgon with 1 minotaur
with the following modifications.
• Warded lever deals 3d8 fire damage.

 Level 13 - 16
In this version, Raxis partnered with a brain
eater to crush the ranks of the Tower Council
and absorb their knowledge. After obtaining
the Council’s secrets, this allowed Raxis and
his abberant ally to create and or recruit a
variety of creatures to thwart any who would
stand in their way. Little does the brain eater
know that its been an expendable pawn of
Raxis the entire time.

reduced to 15 HP instead)
Raxis on the Brink
Make the following modifications to Raxis and
the encounter.
• CR 19
• Dexterity 18 (+4)
• AC 20
• DEX save +11
• 20th-level spellcaster
• add 1 Level 7 spell slot
• add Life Drain feature: Raxis targets up to
three creatures that he can see within 10 feet
of him. Each target must succeed on a DC 20
Constitution saving throw or take 21 (6d6)
necrotic damage, and Raxis regains hit points
equal to the total damage dealt to all targets.
Raxis may use this feature as a Legendary
Action by spending 2 Chaos Seeds)

• Severing Construct table (2 - Regain 2d8+16
HP or spell slot of Level 1d4 / 3d10 necrotic
damage; 4 - 4d6 force damage)

 Level 17 - 20
In this version, Raxis is a vile lich who has
recruited the hordes of the Abyss to assist in
carrying out his destruction of magic on the
Material plane. Raxis has used demon blood
when building the Severing Construct and so
its anti-magic capabilities does not prevent
the Innate Spellcasting of these fiends.

the listed monster and modifications.
• 1 baron of hell (MM 55)
• storm deals 2d10 lightning and 2d10 thunder
damage; dragon dissipates at 75 HP

Raxis on the Brink
Replace Raxis with 1 lich with the following
modifications.
• inlcude all Legendary and Lair Actions, in
addition those from Raxis’s stat block
• add the Fueled by Chaos feature from Raxis’s
stat block
• equipped with robes of the archmagi
(DMG 194) and ring of protection (DMG 191)
• Severing Construct (AC 21; 100 HP)
• Severing Construct table (2 - Regain 2d10+20
HP or spell slot of Level 1d4 / 3d20 necrotic
damage; 4 - 6d6 force damage)

Entrance Chamber
Replace the gorgon and imp with the listed
monsters and modifications.
• 1 hezrou
• 1 barlgura
• The barlgura starts the encounter invisible,
waiting to activate the warded lever. Warded
lever deals 3d20 fire damage.
