Canadian
I have attached an updated resume with three reference contacts and academic credentials.
Academic Qualifications
I hold an LL.B. degree (equivalent to Juris Doctorate degree) from the University of London, London
School of Economics (1981). I have a Master’s degree from Durham University (1978). I was awarded the
degree of Barrister of Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) in 1986.
Teaching Experience
I have taught at the university level in Southeast Asia, both in person and online since 2008.
I have extensive experience teaching English for academic and specific purposes and IELTS, TOEFL, and
TOEIC. I am also an academic editor for two university faculties.
My decisions are based on core principles that reflect my genuine beliefs and values, which include
empathy for and trust of other faculty and students, care and respect, patience, tolerance, and loyalty. I
believe that there is always room for improvement. One way to achieve that is to seek advice from
colleagues and students and to be open to constructive criticism.
I follow the pedagogical technique known as the Socratic method by asking a series of questions, which
helps students think critically about their ideas and refine their thoughts. This is meant to expose
contradictions and guide students to more reasonable conclusions. I also embrace Communicative
Language Teaching with mostly student-centered activities such as pair and group work and
presentations.
I am very familiar with Canvas Instructure, which I continue to use for all my English for Nursing courses.
This includes student access to all materials, assignments, quizzes, grading, attendance, and
announcements. I am also an experienced online teacher using Zoom and WebEx.
I look forward to discussing this career opportunity during a Zoom interview. Please contact me at

Yours sincerely,
