˚。 ⋆୨ ♡ HOW TO OVERCOME UNMOD ♡ ୧⋆ ˚。

Unmoderated caucus is an informal discussion session with an individual speaking time

usually around 10~15 minutes. With this unmod session, you can walk around and
discuss with other delegates who align with your principles and solutions. Most people
will be nervous, and it's okay. We’ll start with the basics:
1. Don't think about it too much. Unmod is just another word for group discussion.
Take it easy.
2. Avoid massive blocs and instead be inclusive.
3. Listen and ask questions to other delegates.
4. Acknowledge other delegates' opinions.
5. Don't let other delegates feel excluded. Remember this is a group discussion.
6. Be professional and respectful. Unmods are more informal than mods, but it
remains important to be respectful of others.

You may be thinking, how do I start/propose an unmod? To demonstrate how to propose

an unmod, let's begin with an example and then examine it: The delegate raises their
placard with and say, “Thank you for the recognition Chair, the delegate of [country]
would like to raise a motion for an unmoderated caucus with a total time of [time]”
After that, the motion will be put to a committee vote. You'll enter an unmod if the
majority of people raise their placards in support.

After the Unmod finishes, you’ll usually move on back to moderated caucuses, as the
cycle is usually:
Mod-Mod-Unmod, Mod-Mod-Unmod, and so on, until it’s time to introduce draft
resolutions, which usually takes place on the second day.
