Barangay Captain
City of Cagayan de Oro
Province of Misamis Oriental

Greetings!

We hope this letter finds you well. We, Vincent KC Haguisan, Jhonsen Bariga, John Gil
Zamora, Cyjohn Renci Perez, JC Sar June Umpad, Alexander Shanse Ogoc, and Jason Lyle Ramos,
are students from the University of Science and Technology of the Southern Philippines, taking up BS
Civil Engineering. We are currently in our third year. As part of the requirements for our degree, we
are undertaking our undergraduate thesis project. We are seeking permission to conduct our study
within your esteemed community. This study is entitled “Assessment of Traffic Congestion at an
Unsignalized Junction along Mandumol-Aluba-Bueno Oro Rd., Porfirio Chavez St., and Tomas
Saco St., Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City." The objective of our study is to analyze the Level of
Service (LOS) of the traffic congestion at the specified junction. To accomplish this, we intend to
install CCTV cameras for data collection over a period of 22 days.

We assure you that the study will be conducted in an ethical and professional manner and that
the ordinances and regulations will be followed. The outcomes of our research will be strictly utilized
for academic purposes only. This can also serve as a reference for urban planning and transportation
management. Moreover, the findings may lay the groundwork for the implementation of tangible
strategies aimed at mitigating traffic congestion and elevating the overall effectiveness of
transportation systems within the locality.
We would be grateful if you could grant us permission to conduct this study in your
Barangay.

Thank you and God bless!

Respectfully yours,

Vincent KC M. Haguisan
