Indonesian Notices to Mariners (IDNM) is prepared and broadcasted weekly by Pusat Hidro-
Oseanografi TNI AL (Pushidrosal), as a correction to nautical charts and other publications.
The Mariners strongly requested to notify immediately to the Pushidrosal on the discovery of
new hazards of shipping, changes or defects in aids to navigation and of shortcomings in Indo-
nesian nautical charts and other publications (Hydrographic Note on last page). To find

SECTION I

EXPLANATORY NOTES. NOTICE TO MARINERS GUIDANCE

1. Indonesian Notices to Mariners using dual languages Indonesian and English.

2. Asterisk (*) on IDNM numbers indicates that sources are based on original information
from Indonesia.
3. Preliminary and Temporary notices are signed with (P) and (T) in IDNM numbers and
sign (x) indicates that IDNM has previously been issued as Preliminary or Temporary no-
tices with used term : Collapsed, Missing, Extinguished, Relit, Damaged and
Drifted.
4. Location of the object that issued is described in general or detailed.
5. Lights object described by information light numbers in Indonesian List of Lights
(IDLL).
6. Affected charts are the latest of printed and edition can be seen in the latest edition of
Indonesian Charts Catalogue.
7. Horizontal coordinates are generally presented in Latitude Longitude World Geodetic
System 1984 with <WGS-84> mark. Presentation of the coordinates in another system
adapted to its Datum, Example : <Bessel Djakarta>. When an unknown coordinate
system marked by <Unknown>, and if the coordinates are approximates marked with
<PA> (Position Approximate)
8. The Bearings and Directions presented in degrees. For Bearings and Directions associ-
ated with the light sectors are taken from the ship's position towards to the target.
9. Terms used in correcting the Charts consist of:
a. Insert, corrections or additions related to adding new information.
b. Amend, corrections related changes attributes on an object.
c. Substitute, correction associated replacement of an object by other objects.
d. Move, corrections related changes in the coordinates of an objects.
e. Delete, correction concerning the elimination of objects.
10. Some Notices affected with line or area is also displayed in the chartlet, to help Mari-
ners on knowing the position of the objects, e.g. laying of submarine cables or restricted
area.
11. Related Symbols could be seen on Chart Nr.1
12. Radio Navigation Warning broadcast daily by Coast Radio Station (Could be seen in List
of Coastal Radio Station) with name Hydro-Indo.
13. The time is considered with Indonesian Western Part Time (WIB)

*183 Prevention of Marine Pollution

Announced to all ships sailing in Indonesian waters not to throw garbage, both
organic and unorganic, waste into the sea during the voyage and to keep storing
garbage in garbage bags that are on board the ship until it arrives at the port of call to be
dropped off. In order to be concern.

INSTRUCTION

1. The sailors immediately notify Pushidrosal and nearest Syahbandar when encounter
hazards of shipping, alteration or damage Marine Aids to Navigation as well as alack of
information on Indonesian Chart and other Nautical Publications.
2. Instruction forms and attachment are made to facilitate the sender and receiver, and should
be used or followed, if posible. Copy of this form can be obtained from the address
Pushidros TNI AL before hand or chart sales agent or the last page Indonesian Notices to
Mariners (IDNM) and website Pushidrosal: www.pushidrosal.id
3. When the position is determined by sextant angles or bearing (true or magnetic mention )
must use more than two lines of bearing for checking. Means used to measure the distance
to be mentioned (radar,etc). The inclusion of latitude and longitude is only used when the
