Ofsted Outcome 2024
Ofsted Outcome 2024
I am delighted to inform you that the final Ofsted inspection report from our two-day section 8
inspection on 13th and 14th March 2024 accompanies this covering letter. The report will also be
accessible via the school website today and published on the official Ofsted report website, eight
working days from today’s date.
Some highlights from the report - What is it like to attend this school? This really encapsulates our
school:
‘This is a school where everyone is welcome and encouraged to do their best. There is a sense
of community and belonging forged between the primary and secondary phases. When
new pupils join, they are welcomed into the community’
‘The school is well led. Leaders, including those responsible for governance, understand the
strengths of the school and have clear plans in place to secure further improvements’
‘They have created an environment where staff are happy in their work and are fulsome in their
praise of changes leaders have affected. Staff recognise the extensive initiatives in place to
manage workload and well-being’
It gives me great pleasure to share that His Majesty’s Inspector judged the school as Outstanding
for Nursery and Reception (EYFS), with Good in all other areas including Sixth Form. This
inspection was under a new framework, it is a change in the grading overall, however honestly,
we have progressed so much in the last 12 months and we are clear in our next steps to reach
Outstanding in every area in the next inspection.
I am delighted that the hard work undertaken by the Whitefriars staff and pupils has been
recognised, including the comments regarding our work on cultural diversity, high standards and
expectations, the effective systems in place, the reflective and driven nature of leaders,
commitment of the pupils and the positive impact on the quality of education.
The report itself highlights the many elements of effective provision at Whitefriars, as well as the
next steps needed to take our school forward. What is very satisfying is that the next steps
identified were already within our development plan prior to this inspection and the associated
adaptations are being implemented already.

Please take the time to read the inspection report in full as it evidences the significant changes,
we have made in the last 12 months, and a school community that continuously strives to improve
and excel to achieve our school mission.
I would like to thank the parents and carers who have supported the school in the drive for providing
an exceptional educational experience for everyone at Whitefriars.
