Santa / Christmas Hat

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE STARTING

Height: ~ 9.5 cm
Diameter: ~ 5.5 cm

● The height depends on the size of your hook.

● This pattern is crocheted in closed rounds, meaning each round needs to be started
using a chain and each round needs to be closed with a slip stitch. Don’t forget to
use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.
● Always work in both loops unless other indications are provided.
● Don’t forget to change color when doing the last yarn over of the previous stitch.
● This pattern is crocheted using a X-shaped single crochet (yarn under instead of yarn
over). With a V-shaped single crochet you may notice a slight difference with the
color changes.

Material:
● Hook: 2.5 mm
● Yarn:
○ Scheepjes Catona - Hot red (#115)
○ DMC Teddy - White (#318)
● A small sleigh bell (diameter 1.5 mm)
● A tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
ch: chain
dc: double crochet
inc: increase
MR: Magic Ring
sc: single crochet

Start with red color

Round Indications Stitch Count

R1 4 sc in a MR [4]

R2 ch 2, 1 dc in each sc, slst in the first stitch (not the chain) [4]

R3 ch 2, (1 dc, dc inc) x 2, slst in the first stitch [6]

R4 ch 2, (2 dc, dc inc) x 2, slst in the first stitch [8]

R5 ch 2, (3 dc, dc inc) x 2, slst in the first stitch [10]

R6 ch 2, (4 dc, dc inc) x 2, slst in the first stitch [12]

R7 ch 2, (2 dc, dc inc) x 4, slst in the first stitch [16]

R8 ch 2, 1 dc in each stitch [16]

R9 ch 2, (3 dc, dc inc) x 4, slst in the first stitch [20]

R10 ch 2, (4 dc, dc inc) x 4, slst in the first stitch [24]

R11 ch 2, (3 dc, dc inc) x 6, slst in the first stitch [30]

R12 ch 2, (4 dc, dc inc) x 4, slst in the first stitch [36]

Change to white fluffy yarn

R13 ch 2, 1 dc in each stitch [36]

With a tapestry needle, close the end with the first stitch.
Then, attach a sleigh bell on top of the hat.
