Indian Navy's Outreach Program "Julley Ladakh" (Hello Ladakh)

• The Indian Navy recently has launched an outreach program called "Julley Ladakh" (Hello Ladakh)
to increase awareness about the Navy and engage with the youth and civil society in Ladakh.
• Key objectives of the "Julley Ladakh" initiative:
• Motivate the youth to consider joining the Indian Navy.
• Showcase "Nari Shakti," an initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, by including women
officers and spouses in the program.

Himachal Pradesh govt. restores old pension scheme

• The Old Pension Scheme assures life-long income, post-retirement, which is equivalent to 50% of
the last drawn salary. Government bears the pension expense.
• Employees also get the benefit of the revision of Dearness Relief (DR)
• The scheme was discontinued in 2004.
• The Central Government introduced the National Pension System (NPS) with effect from January
2004 (except for armed forces).
• NPS is being implemented and regulated by PFRDA (Pension Fund Regulatory and Development
Authority) in the country.
• The All-Citizens Model of the NPS allows all citizens of India (including NRIs) aged between 18 - 70
years to join NPS.
• It is a participatory scheme, where employees contribute to their pension corpus from their
salaries, with matching contributions from the government.
• Even private individuals can opt for the scheme.

Himachal CM Sukhu launches 'Him Data Portal'

• 'Him Data Portal’ - a common digital platform to integrate data of all


organizations

Keet Bima scheme for sericulturists.
• In the first phase of this pilot project, 200 sericulturists from five
blocks of four districts -- Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh
Nagar, and Nainital -- have been insured from the ill effects of
climate change, scarcity of water, and other hazards.
• This scheme will be run under Saral Krishi Beema.

Uttarakhand government launched ‘A HELP’ Program

• Uttarakhand CM, Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched a program


named ‘A-HELP’ (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of
Livestock Production).
• Women (Pashu Sakhis) have been chosen to strengthen livestock-
related activities in remote rural areas.
• Trained A-HELPs will help to prevent the various infectious
diseases of animals, and artificial insemination under Rashtriya
Gokul Mission, tagging of animals and animal insurance.
• The programme was successfully piloted in State of Madhya Pradesh and J&K (UT).

Protest Against Bokang-Baling Hydroelectric Project

Bokang-Baling Hydroelectric Project:

• It is a proposed hydroelectric project on river Dhauliganga in the


Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand.
• It has a proposed installed capacity of 165 MW.
• The project involves the construction of a concrete gravity dam of
65 m from river bed level and an underground Power House.
The project is being implemented by THDC India Limited.

Dhauliganga river:

• Origin: It rises in the vicinity of the Niti Pass in the border


regions between Garhwal region of Uttarakhand and
southwestern Tibet.
• It meets the Alaknanda River (the major source stream of the
Ganges river) at Vishnuprayag in Uttarakhand.
• It is one of the important tributaries of Alaknanda, the other
being the Nandakini, Pindar, Mandakini, and Bhagirathi.

Uttar Pradesh govt launches Nand Baba Milk Mission scheme

• Uttar Pradesh has launched the Nand Baba Milk Mission


scheme on June 6 at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
• Aims to facilitate sale of milk at a reasonable price through
dairy co-operative societies in producers’ villages itself
• Under this mission, it is proposed to form a Dairy farmer
producer organization (Dairy FPO) in order to facilitate the
sale of milk in producers' villages itself.

UP govt launches 'Elder Line' service to give shelter to elderly homeless

• The 'Elder Line' 14567 service was recently launched by the Uttar
Pradesh Social Welfare Department.
• Objective - to rescue destitute old persons and provide them
shelter in old age homes.
• Citizens can report about destitute elderly persons on roadsides,
bus stations, railway stations, or similar places.
• Uttar Pradesh currently has 75 old age homes, one in each district.
• The social welfare department plans to link the over 6,000 elderly
individuals residing in old age homes to the 'Rashtriya
Vridhavastha Pension' scheme.

UP launches 'Operation Conviction' for cow slaughter, child abuse cases

• The Uttar Pradesh Police Department launched 'Operation Conviction' to combat criminals and
mafias in the state.
• The initiative will expedite the prosecution of cases registered under the Protection of Children
from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, cow slaughter, religious conversion, and murder.
• It ensures the immediate arrest of criminals, the collection of strong evidence against them,
quality investigation, and effective representation of cases in courts.
• After filing of the chargesheet, charges will be framed within three days and trial will be
completed in the next 30 days to ensure speedy justice for victims.

• Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot approved a proposal for giving 8% interest subsidy on loans obtained
by the members of women’s self-help groups (SHGs) from Mahila Nidhi.
• ‘Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi‘ was launched in 2022, and was formed through Rajasthan Rural Livelihood
Development Council (Rajivika), with a sanction of Rs.50 crore grant for the first two years. The
scheme facilitates crediting of loans up to Rs 40,000 within 48 hours, and above Rs 40,000 within 15
days.
• Mahila Nidhi is operated entirely by women and acts as a complementary body with the formal
banking system.

'Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana' as a ‘God Bharai' ceremony in Rajasthan

• In Dausa, Rajasthan 'Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ is observed as a ‘God Bharai' (Baby
Shower) ceremony.
• In this ceremony all the pregnant women of the area
come together and they are provided with 'nutritional
kits' for the health of their babies.
• About 3.5 lakh women have benefited from this scheme
during 2022-23 only in Rajasthan.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY):
• PMMVY was launched on January 1, 2017 as a Centrally
Sponsored Scheme.

The government of Rajasthan has allocated Rs 13,000 crore to implement ‘Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project’ during
the recent state budget.
The objective of the Project is to harvest the surplus water collected during the rainy season in the Southern
Rajasthan Rivers like Chambal and its tributaries like Kunnu, Parvati, and Kalisindh and transfer it to south- eastern
districts.
The budget was presented by the CM of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot. He also holds the finance portfolio of the state.
The canal is to run through 13 districts of the state.

Parshottam Rupala launches Sagar Parikrama Phase-III from Hazira Port


• Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala launched the
Sagar Parikrama Phase-III from Hazira Port, Gujarat.
• It started towards the coastal line of Maharashtra at Satpati,
Vasai, Versova, and Parikrama and ended at Sasson Dock,
Mumbai.
• Aim: To disseminate information on various fisheries-related
schemes and programs being implemented by the government.
• It also aimed to promote responsible fisheries and protect marine
ecosystems.

20th anniversary of SWAGAT initiative


• PM Modi attended the 20th anniversary of the State Wide
Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology (SWAGAT)
initiative in Gujarat via video conferencing on April 27.
• This scheme was started by PM Modi in April 2003 during his
tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
• Aim: To act as a bridge between the citizens and the government
using technology by solving their day-to-day grievances in a quick,
efficient, and time-bound manner

MP Cabinet approves Ladli Behna Yojana

• Madhya Pradesh cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh


Chouhan, has approved the
Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana to empower women at every
level.
• Under this scheme, Rs 1000 (month) will be deposited in the
account of women, irrespective of their class or caste, who is age
is above 23 years.
• A sum of Rs 60,000 crore will be spent on this scheme in five years.
• The Yojana was launched on March 5, 2023.

Madhya Pradesh government launched Chief Minister's Residential Land Rights

• Mukhyamantri Bhumi Adhikar Yojna launched from Bakpura Panchayat of


Tikamgarh district on 4 January 2023.
• The scheme will be launched in the entire state.
• Each beneficiary family will be given a plot of about 600 square feet for
construction of houses under various schemes including Pradhan Mantri
Awas Yojana.

Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana : Madhya Pradesh

• The Madhya Pradesh state cabinet has given its approval to a new
scheme called ‘Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana’ (Chief
Minister Learn and Earn Scheme), aimed at providing
opportunities for unemployed youth in the state.
• Under the scheme government plans to offer training in around
700 different types of works across various sectors.
• These sectors include engineering, hotel management, tourism,
travel, hospital services, ITI, software development, banking,
insurance, accounting, chartered accountancy, financial services,
industries, and MSME industry.
• Youth who have completed their 12th grade, ITI, graduation, or
post-graduation are eligible to enroll in the scheme.
• Participants will receive a monthly stipend based on their
educational qualifications.

• Chhattisgarh Chief Minister recently launched the Mukhyamantri Vriksh Sampada Yojana (Chief

• This scheme has been launched with the aim of increasing the
income of farmers by promoting commercial plantation in rural
areas.
• Under this scheme, the state government will provide full
subsidy for tree plantation on up to 5 acres of land and 50
percent financial subsidy on more than 5 acres.

Odisha CM disburses Rs 877 cr to over 43 lakh farmers under KALIA scheme

• The Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has released Rs 877 crore to 43 lakh farmers through direct benefit
transfer (DBT) mode on the occasion of Utkal Divas (April 1).
The assistance was provided for agricultural activities in the
current kharif season.
The Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income
Augmentation (KALIA) is Odisha government's flagship
programme for farmers.

• The Odisha government has launched a 'Mo Ghara’ (My House)


scheme to provide credit-linked financial assistance to
beneficiaries who face a fund crunch to complete or upgrade their
houses.
• The scheme will cover all such families who were left out in the
existing housing schemes.
• Under the Scheme, a beneficiary can avail housing loan up to Rs 3
Lakh

Odisha cabinet approves additional Rs 1,000 cr for the ABADHA Yojana

• Odisha cabinet approved an additional outlay of over Rs 1,000


crore for the ABADHA (Augmentation of Basic Amenities and
Development of Heritage and Architecture) Yojana for
development of Puri.
• When the ABADHA scheme was launched during 2017-18 to
develop Puri, the State Cabinet had a cost outlay of ₹3,208
crore.
• Aim - to transform basic infrastructure in Puri town which is
famous for the Lord Jagannath Temple.
The Cabinet approved the revised cost of the scheme at ₹4,224.22 crore with scheme
implementation period from 2017-18 to 2024-25

• Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana was started by


the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik on June 21,
2023
• With a projected outlay of Rs 3354.40 crore
• The yojana is aimed at transforming nutrition outcomes of
adolescent girls (15-19 years), pregnant women & lactating
mothers, and severely underweight children of under 6
years of age across the state over a period of five years
commencing from FY 2023-24.

Assam CM launches Ayushman Assam Scheme

• Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched


the Ayushman Assam Scheme under the Mukhya Mantri Jan
Arogya Yojna (MMJAY) in Guwahati.
• A healthcare scheme, offering cashless medical treatment
up to ₹ 5 lakh per family a year.
• The scheme aims to promote accessible and affordable
healthcare, covering around 26 lakh families.
• 'Ayushman Asom' will cover 1,578 healthcare procedures in over 300 impanelled hospitals in the
state

Maharashtra Government launched Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana

• The Maharashtra government has approved a new financial scheme


under which Rs 6,000 will be paid annually to over one crore farmers
in the state.
• On May 30, the 'Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana' was approved in
a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai.
• The Central Government's PM Kisan Yojana already offers financial
assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to farmers across the country. With the
introduction of the state-level scheme, Maharashtra farmers will now
receive a combined total of Rs 12,000 per year.

Maharashtra CM launches Asia's largest cluster development scheme

• Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has launched Asia's largest,


ambitious and historic cluster development scheme in Thane.
• Objective - collective redevelopment of unauthorized and official
dangerous buildings
Cluster redevelopment programme - in which several buildings in
an area are rebuilt together as one unit
• The redeveloped township plan includes well-equipped health,
educational, sports, recreational, parking, mandi, and civic facilities.
• 10,000 houses will be constructed in the first phase of cluster development in Thane on 1500 acre
area.

Telangana to introduce Rs 5 lakh insurance scheme for toddy tappers

• The state government of Telangana, led by Chief


Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced to
introduce a new insurance scheme for toddy tappers,
under the name ‘Geetha Karmikula Bhima’.
• As per the scheme, an insurance money of Rs 5 lakh
would be deposited directly in the bank account of the
respective family members in case any toddy tapper dies
accidentally while collecting toddy from palm trees in
the fields.
• The insurance amount would be disbursed within a
week.

New health programme ‘Arogya Mahila’ launched for women in Telangana

centres and medicines provided to them free of cost.

Andhra Pradesh CM launches Machilipatnam port project for economic growth

• Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy formally launched the Machilipatnam port
works worth Rs 5,156 crore recently.
• The port, with an initial cargo capacity of 35 million tonnes, will be completed in two years.
• The capacity will be increased to 116 million tonnes as cargo traffic gradually increases.
• The port will help develop Machilipatnam on the lines of developed port cities like Mumbai and
Chennai as it will be connected by National Highway 216 and Gudivada-Machilipatnam railway line
soon.
• The project is being implemented by the Machilipatnam Port Development Corporation Limited
(MPDCL).

Karnataka announces free bus travel ‘Shakti’ scheme for women

• Karnataka women can travel inside border states free of cost in buses under 'Shakti' scheme
• Announcement for the launch of 4 other schemes:
'Gruha Jyoti' offering 200 free units of electricity to domestic consumers will be launched from
Kalaburagi from July 1.
• 'Anna Bhagya' scheme offering 10 kg free rice or food grain to the BPL families will be launched
from Mysuru.
• ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme (Providing monthly financial assistance of Rs.2,000 to the head woman of a
house), will be launched on August 16 from Belagavi.
• 'Yuva Nidhi' scheme offering unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to the graduates and Rs 1,500 to
the diploma holders, for 24 months if they do not get job within six months of passing their exam.

PM Modi dedicates various projects to nation in Karnataka

• Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway - Built at a cost of over Rs 8400 crore, 118 km long, 10-lane
Expressway will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and
Mysuru from three hours to about 75 minutes.
• Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Mysuru-Kushalnagar
Highway.

• New campus of IIT Dharwad – PM dedicated to the nation the new


campus of IIT Dharwad, developed at a cost of Rs 850 crore.

Kerala launched Monthly Stipend Scheme for Junior Lawyers

• Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan has launched the monthly stipend


scheme for junior lawyers in Kerala.
• Under this scheme, a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000 will be
provided to junior lawyers in the State.
• Eligibility for stipend:
• Lawyers below 30 years of age with less than three years of
practice.
• Annual income less than Rs. 1 lakh.
• The scheme will be implemented by the Bar Council of the state.

• PM Modi inaugurated India's first water metro in Kochi


(Kerala), which connects 10 islands around Kochi through
battery-operated electric hybrid boats.
• The metro project will start with eight electric hybrid boats
developed under Cochin Shipyard Limited.

KfW.
