Ouë Gerrit was niet meer te houën. Laan in, laan uit
z’n boonen liep ie al z’n akkers af, van vijf uren in den
morgen. In siddering zag ie de zon wegblijven, den
wind opsteken, en onweerigen bliksem dag en avond
over de velden flitsen. Hij at en dronk niet, stáárde

benauwende woordjes vermummelend.

fabriek. Nou kon ie, met groote moeite, er misschien ’n
paar honderd duizend halen.
Hij stamelde:
—Jai menair de netoaris! ’t is … sien u!.. van dit en
van dat! hoho! de boonestòrm!
