For the kind attention of all HoIs, teachers, students of schools affiliated under WBCHSE:

This is to inform all head of institutions, students, teachers affiliated under WBCHSE and all academic
communities that the council has introduced semester system for class XI from Academic Year 2024–25
and for class XII from Academic Year 2025–26.In this direction, the Council has revised the curriculum of
all the subjects after 11 years, and particularly the language papers were thoroughly revised, and
curriculum of all subjects were bifurcated into four semesters.

Government of West Bengal has taken the responsibility of printing all the textbooks of language
subjects through WBTBC and Saraswati Press(as per prevailing practice), which will be distributed to all
the students free of cost across the state of West Bengal. But it may take some time despite extensive
efforts from the Council as well as from the end of School Education Department (SED), Government of
West Bengal.

As per recent government order (10.secy/11099/41/2023­ADMN SEC­DSE ,dated 27.05.24) the schools
will reopen after summer vacation on 3rd June 2024, and the classes will commence from 10th June,
2024. Many schools have already started online classes for the class XI.

As the language text books are not yet available and there are considerable changes in the curriculum,
we are uploading the textual components of all the language papers on the Council's website for the
benefit of teacher, students and general academic community. However, it may kindly be noted that the
School Education Department is taking necessary steps to expedite the delivery of hard copies of the
textbooks to all the students of different schools affiliated under WBCHSE at the earliest. The teachers
and students can start their classes based on the uploaded document on our website for the time being.
