Hello everybody!
We've just finished unit 2! Now it's time for you to do the task for this unit (TA02). I
invite you to check the instructions below and remember that if you need to review a
topic, you can always check the course material as often as needed. Keep in mind that
you have to present this task during week.

1. Learning outcome
Unidad 2: Life and achievements
Logro específico de aprendizaje: Al finalizar la unidad, el estudiante describe diversos
tipos de experiencias y logros para desenvolverse en la lengua inglesa a nivel A2+
utilizando gramática y vocabulario pertinentes.

2. Lesson outcome
At the end of the lesson, you and your team talk about a successful Peruvian person and
his/her achievements by using the present perfect, past simple, and the vocabulary from
unit 2.

3. Description

 Step 1:
 Work in pairs or groups of three and make a list of people from Perú who
have been successful in different fields.
 Agree on talking about one of these people.

 Write about him/her.


 Use the following chart.

Example: Juan Diego Florez

 He was born in Lima.


Personal details
 He’s an opera singer.
 He’s generous.

 He started very young.


 He got a place at the Conservatory of Music in
Life story
Lima.

 He has received many awards for his talent.


Achievements  He has founded a social project.

*This latter point being
optional * This project is important because it helps
vulnerable people (poor children).
 Step 2:
 Prepare your presentation with your partners.
 Think of a suitable title, for example, Juan Diego Flórez: Music to
Perú's ears.
 Use the following table as a guide:

4. Considerations to record the video

 Before recording the video


 Work in pairs or groups of three.
 Keep in mind the time you have for the task.
 Use the grammar and vocabulary you have studied during the week.
 Avoid using translators and make sure your ideas are coherent.
 Practice your pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
 Use a quiet place to record your conversation.
 At the moment of recording the video
 Show yourselves to the camera in a close-up or medium shot, without
covering your face.
 Avoid recording yourselves in the shadows or giving your back to the
light.
 Greet your audience and introduce yourselves at the beginning of the
video.
 Use correct pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
 Use the correct volume of voice, it should be neither too high nor too
low.
 Use body language and show interest when listening to your partners.
 Avoid reading your conversation.
 Use the time allotted for the task.
 Finish the video by saying goodbye to your audience.
 After recording the video
 Double-check your video before submitting it.
 If you have a link, make sure the access to your video is open.

5. Material

 Grammar: the present perfect and past simple (affirmative and negative
sentences)
 Vocabulary: verbs and collocations for important life events (Vocabulary from
Unit 2)
 material: Unit 2

6. Presentation

 Number of participants: 2 - 3
 Cover: Present a cover at the beginning of the video or in a Word /PDF
document with the Youtube/Drive link.
 Format: multimedia or Word/PDF format with the YouTube/Drive link
 Video length: 3 - 4 minutes (apart from your introductions and farewells)
 Attempts: 1
 Deadline: Sunday of week
