ACC 188: PRINCIPLE OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

ii. Course aim

“Principles of Financial Accounting” is a course that introduces students to the fundamentals of


financial accounting and Government accounting. This course is designed for Bsc. Economics
students in their first year of study in order to equip them with the basic concepts and uses of
financial accounting information in a business environment and its role in the economic decision-
making process.

iii. Course expected learning outcome(s)


At the end of the course, student should be able to:
 Understand and be able to apply the basic principles of financial accounting.
 Understanding the accounting cycle and be able to prepare the basic financial statements.
 Understand the basics of government accounting process.
