About the Organisation:

Ghana Federation of the Disability Organisations (GFD) is a national umbrella of organisations of persons with disabilities in
Ghana.

GFD has a vision of an inclusive society for all persons with disabilities in Ghana. The Federation works to influence national
legislations, policies, and programmes for disability inclusion as well as empowerment of organisations of persons with
disabilities for advocacy and sustainability. GFD has twelve (12) member organisations currently. It has branches in all 16
administrative regions and 250 districts in Ghana.

Are you a dynamic and organized professional with a passion for human resources and administrative management in a diverse
and inclusive environment? We are seeking a Human Resource and Administrative Officer to join our team and help drive our
mission forward.

Purpose of the Job:

The Human Resource and Administrative Officer will be responsible for Managing and coordinating Human resource and office
related activities, as well as strengthening the organisation’s system for effective and efficient operations. He or she will ensure
the smooth running of affairs by managing the day-to-day human resources, administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with
relevant organisational policies.

Key responsibilities:

1. Human Resources (HR) functions

• Manage recruitment and onboarding processes in the organisation


• Oversee employee relations and performance management
• Manage matters of staff safety and wellness
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and organisational policies
• Administer employee benefits
• Coordinate office operations and administrative tasks
• Facilitate periodic staff capacity assessments, training and development
• Develop and maintain relevant human resource tools and materials to support staff performance, efficiency and
effectiveness.
• Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related matters

2. Administrative functions:

• Maintaining and updating physical and digital records of the organisation


• Supervise the work of other administrative staff
• Assist with HR and administrative budget preparation and management, administrative expense tracking, and record-
keeping.
• Manage office supplies stock and place orders
• Develop and update office policies as needed
• Maintain a company calendar and key appointments
• Distribute and store correspondence (e.g. letters, emails and packages)
• Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data, as assigned
• Schedule in-house and external events as may be required
• Maintain an inclusive and accessible office environment for all staff

Requirements and skills

• At least Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field


• Proven experience in HR and administrative roles
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in HR software and MS Office
• Excellent IT Skills i.e. advanced Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and spreadsheet
• Adheres to confidentiality
• Experience within NGOs or Disability Organization could be an added advantage
