Respected Sir,

Greetings from the Bangladesh Economics Olympiad!

It is with great pleasure we extend an invitation to your institution and students to join at the
Bangladesh Economics Olympiad (BDEO) 2024. This event, a pivotal national competition focusing on
Economics, Finance, and Business case-solving for high school students, has been a cornerstone in
fostering economic acumen among the youth since its inception in 2019. Each year, BDEO selects
national teams to represent Bangladesh at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) and the
World Economics Cup (WEC), engaging with over fifty countries globally. Our mission is deeply
aligned with national goals of enhancing financial inclusion, literacy, and economic understanding
among our future leaders.

As we forge pathways to the International Economics Olympiad (IEO), Switzerland, endorsed by

Nobel Laureate Professor Eric Maskin of Harvard University. Bangladesh Economics Olympiad
Committee is the host of the competition, which is led by eminent economist, the receiver of the
highest national civilian award, Swadhinata Padak and Ekushey Padak, Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman
Ahmad, along with Mr. Khurshid Alam, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank, and renowned
economists,
2023, policymakers, academicians, and practitioner. Our latest Olympiad, the 5th BDEO
garnered an unprecedented reach of over 20 million, engaging more than 700 educational
institutions and 5,000 participants nationwide.
This year, the Preliminary Round and the National Event is scheduled for 1 June (Online) and 8 June
(in-person) 2024, at Dhaka Residential Model College, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. The ceremony will be
graced by Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Ministry of Agriculture, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and attended by a
distinguished audience comprising economists, policy makers, academicians, and other notable
figures from across the country.
