Questionnaire

BIM ACCEPTANCE IN CONSTRUCTION FIRMS AT KEDAH

Introduction:

The purpose of the survey is to collect information on BIM acceptance in construction firms at
Kedah.

Background:

Building Information Modelling (BIM) which is apparently seen as a catalyst for productivity
and innovation in the construction industry (Nam Buiab, Christoph Merschbrockb, Bjørn Erik
Munkvold, 2016) is a collaborative tool used by architectural, engineering and construction
(AEC) industries based on a number of software solutions. (Filho, Guedes, Candido, P, & Neto,
2014). However, in spite of the awareness of the potential of BIM, its application remains in
infancy as most of construction firms have not utilise it aggressively yet. It is noted that BIM
implementation is still low in Malaysian construction industry especially firms located at sub-
urban area.

Procedure:

Our objective is to carry out a questionnaire survey with the involvement of those in construction
industry. No personal identifying information will be collected in this study, and all participants
shall remain anonymous.
