STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Aswanth Kannu, a bachelor’s degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from Vishweswaraya

University, India. I always dreamed to pursue studies abroad. I find this chance as a great opportunity
to fulfil my dream. It is my passion to know more about e-commerce business like Amazon, Flipkart,
eBay made me to apply for Bachelor’s in logistics to pursue a career in the field. I’m so grateful to
receive a letter of admission from University of Applied Sciences Würzburg – Schweinfurt for the
course that I intended to pursue

It’s during my high school days e-commerce business became more popular especially among young
people. Being a student, I was very much into online shopping. I was very much excited to see products
getting delivered at our homes very quickly like just at the click of the fingers. I understood that the
convenience of online shopping is very much higher than traditional way of shopping. In addition to
that I could buy products which were not available in my area at very reasonable price. All these made
me to analyse on how these e-commerce businesses works and what made these ventures very
successful.

My studies made it clear that the key player for the success of e-commerce business model is having
an effective and efficient logistics. The only reason why such business model became global success
ids because of Logistics and Supply chain Management. This insight made me to pursue a career in
this field that I’m excited about. Moreover, I believe this industry have tremendous growth
opportunity in the future and is in need of qualified professionals.

As a bachelor’s degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, I already got exposure to operation research,
Production management, product life cycle management which are some of the key concepts of
Logistics and Supply Chain management. The exposure that I got in this field is both theoretical and
practical. I believe this will help me in understanding advanced concepts of supply chain management.
This bachelor’s degree program will help me to understand in depth about various other concepts like
Procurement logistics, Production logistics, Sales logistics. Me being already trained in the above-
mentioned concepts I am very much interested to study and build a career in this field.

In my attempt to identify a suitable institution, I conducted thorough enquiry on different universities

around the world. It was then that I had found out that the universities outside India, especially in
developed countries like Germany the study programs are very advanced. Thus, I understood the need
to pursue better education by studying abroad in one of the most developed countries in Europe and
in the world itself. For that, I chose Germany which is a popular educational spot.

Eventually, I found an appropriate program in the ‘Bachelors in Logistics’ at ‘University of Applied

Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS)’, Germany. I believe that at this institution, my aspirations
will be realized in this challenging and research-integrated environment that would help me to achieve
my goal of becoming an Engineer with great knowledge and skills. I hope that considering my
intentions and the strong desire for this course, you will provide me the opportunity to be part of this
university.
