Who Was Paul?
Before his dramatic conversion, Paul was known as Saul, a devout Pharisee who actively persecuted the
early Christian movement. As a young man, Saul was staunchly opposed to the teachings of Jesus and
dedicated himself to stamping out the growing number of believers.

However, Saul's life was transformed on the road to Damascus when he encountered the resurrected
Christ in a blinding vision. This powerful experience led him to radically change his ways, becoming
one of the most influential figures in the history of Christianity.

After his conversion, Saul took on the name Paul and dedicated the rest of his life to spreading the
gospel of Jesus throughout the Roman world. He traveled extensively, establishing churches and
writing many of the epistles that are now part of the New Testament.

Through his remarkable transformation from persecutor to passionate proclaimer of the faith, Paul's
life stands as a testament to the power of God to redeem and reshape even the most unlikely of
individuals. His story continues to inspire believers to this day.
