8 METHODOLOGY

8.1 Pre-Works

A. Before start of works the following works need to be completed and assessed by the QA/QC
engineer from all concerned parties.

B. Plaster works to walls up to the required height ( at least 100mm. extended )

C. Stucco and primer work should be done to the required height

D. All M.E.P works of first fix services should be completed

E. The IR is to be issued for consultant to inspect the completion of all M.E.P fix services.

F. Before starting the first fix services of false ceiling, the clearance of M.E.P shall be obtained
from the M.E.P contract personals (main/subcontractor) to issue the IR to the consultant for
final inspections.

G. An area for mockup will be prepared for inspection and approval before proceeding with the
overall installation.

H. QA/QC procedures shall be followed, inspections shall be carried out at different work tiers
and clearances shall be obtained at progressive levels as mentioned therein.

8.2 Works

A. Fixing of Suspension Grid:

a) The accurate level points for suspended ceiling on the wall surface shall be undertaken
by means of the surveyor layouts.

b) The IR is to be issued for consultant to inspect and verification of the levels as per the
approved drawings.

13 | P a g e
Project:-

c) The wall angles (L-Angle) of the ceiling assembly shall be fixed on wall surface
(smoothen wall) with screw.

d) The special Galvanized Steel W-Angle material which is designed to provide shadow
gap (10 mm) shall be fixed on the wall surface at wet area ceiling assembly works.

e) The smoothness on the plastered wall shall be verified on basis IR issuing for
consultant at plastering works.

f) Space of each screw driven into wall shall not exceed 150 mm.

Linear

g) The correct positions are to be fixed the Drop-in anchors (expansion anchor) shall be
marked to be compiling the distance of adjacent Main Channel of the assembly system
(800 – 1200 mm).

h) The hole shall be drilled into the marked position of substrate that suits the diameter
(10mm) and embedment depth (32mm) of the Drop-in anchor being used and blown
out dust and loose materials. Then the Drop-in anchor shall be inserted using a proper
setting tool, driven into the anchor until the shoulder of the tool is flush with the
anchor. Finally the threaded rod shall be inserted using a compatible fixing tool and
tighten as a strong resistance.

i) The another end of the threaded rod, having required length to the ceiling depth shall
be fixed using nuts with the bracket (C-Clamp) which is holding with the positioned
(800 – 1200mm) main channel.
