1. Purpose
The present procedure is to describe the way to establish the As-Built Drawings as records
of the constructed works for the, Package 3 - Upper Plateau Primary Road -TBN-17 & TNS-
05.

The As-Built Drawings are an essential part of the documentation to be handed over to the
Client and to the Operation & Maintenance entity. The aim of these drawings is mainly:

➢ To provide a fully detailed description of the project as it has been finally built.
➢ To be the base information for further modifications and/or extensions, and potentially
to provide information to entities that could plan/undertake construction activities
adjacent or nearby.

2. When to do
Basically, the As-Built Drawing procedure can start when works have been completed on a
given section in accordance with the construction drawings which shall be at least Code B
status.

3. Definition of As-built drawings


Set of drawing submitted upon completion of a project or a particular work. They reflect all
changes in the specifications and working drawings during the construction process, and
show the significant dimensions, geometry, and location of all elements of the work
completed under the contract.

4. As-Built Submission Process


1. Identify the sections or locations which are completed.
2. Review of comments, related documents of changes.
3. Update BIM Models and shop drawing with all information according to the review.
4. Submit the As-Built drawing and updated BIM Models “for Approval.”
5. Monitor and update the review comments from reviewers (SC ZFP or client)

Activity Task, Support and Responsible

• The design engineer in coordination with the site team will identify the sections/areas that
are completed, and shop drawings are at least in CODE A and B status.
• Any drawings that are irrelevant/de-descoped/duplicated will be cancelled after obtaining
permission from the client. All remaining submitted shop drawings will be submitted as as-
built drawings after incorporating necessary changes.
• Any shop drawings that are submitted for temporary works will not be submitted as as-built
drawings.
• If the existing drawings are in CODE C or D status, it needs to be resubmitted and
obtained approval from the client prior to proceed with the as-built drawings.
• Finally, the design engineer will prepare list of drawings based on each section/area to be
submitted as-built.
For road scope of works and box culvert, below shop drawings will be combined to one as-built
Road: Cross section, vegetative ditch, lined concrete ditch and soil ditch
Box culvert: Setting out, reinforcement, loose and grouted rip-rap

Upon identifying the shop drawings to be submitted as built, the design engineer and technical
manager will review all comments related to the shop drawings. The comments shall be
obtained mainly from the documents below.
• Comments from shop drawing submissions.
• Design changes
• Request for information (RFI)
• Deviation requests.
• Non-conformance reports (If applicable)
• Work inspection requests (If applicable)
Any changes or deviations that may vary from the information represented on the latest
construction drawings shall be noted for update.

on Appendix 5.2.
• The numbering of As-built drawings shall be changed as discussed and finalized in
coordination with SC ZFP and client.

• If the As-built drawing receives CODE A after the review, then the DC shall update the as-
built register and no further action is required.
• If the As-built drawing receives CODE B, C or D after the review, then the DC shall
immediately notify the design engineer/ technical manager, for further review of comments
and resubmission.
• Rejected as-built drawings shall be resubmitted after incorporating the comments from
reviewers.
