A. DANH TỪ ĐẾM ĐƯỢC & DANH TỪ KHÔNG ĐẾM ĐƯỢC

I. Countable noun (Danh từ đếm được)

 Là danh từ chỉ những người/vật... có thể đếm được.

 Có cả hình thức số ít và số nhiều. Đối với danh từ đếm được số ít chúng ta có thể dùng mạo từ a/an. Với
các danh từ đếm được số nhiều, chúng ta có thể dùng số đếm (two, three …) , hoặc các lượng từ
như some, any, many, (a) few…

Ví dụ: a book, an egg, three eggs, some rocks, a few friends...

Lưu ý cách chuyển đổi danh từ đếm được số ít sang danh từ số nhiều:

Thông thường để chuyển một danh từ đếm được từ số ít sang số nhiều, chúng ta chỉ cần thêm -s vào cuối danh
từ đó. Tuy nhiên có một số trường hợp cần lưu ý:
a. Danh từ tận cùng bằng -o(*), -ch, -sh, -s, -x: thêm -es
potato → potatoes watch → watches
bus → buses box → boxes
(*) Lưu ý với trường hợp danh từ tận cùng bằng -o, sẽ có những trường hợp ngoại lệ.
Ví dụ: piano → pianos photo → photos …
b. Danh từ tận cùng bằng một phụ âm + y: đổi y thành i + -es
baby → babies fly → flies
c. Danh từ tận cùng bằng -f, -fe: bỏ f, fe và thêm -ves
knife → knives scarf → scarves
d. Một số danh từ đếm được khi chuyển sang số nhiều sẽ không theo quy tắc chung.
man → men child → children …
e. Một số danh từ có dạng số ít và số nhiều như nhau.
sheep → sheep deer → deer
II. Uncountable noun (Danh từ không đếm được)

 Là danh từ chỉ chất liệu, chất lỏng, khái niệm trừu tượng, và vật được xem như một khối không thể tách
rời.
 Các danh từ không đếm được thường không có hình thức số nhiều.

B. MODAL VERB :MUST / MUSTN’T

(Động từ khuyết thiếu: must / mustn’t)

Cấu trúc:

must + V (động từ nguyên thể)

Khẳng định I / You / We / They / He / She / It + must + V

Phủ định I / You / We / They / He / She / It + must not (= mustn’t) + V

 Ví dụ:
 - You must tell someone where you are going.
 - This is the top secret, so you mustn't let anyone know.
Cách dùng:
Must nghĩa là “phải”. Mustn’t nghĩa là “không được phép”. Must / Mustn’t được dùng để diễn
đạt sự bắt buộc, cần thiết phải / không được làm gì.
Cấu trúc với động từ "must"
a. Câu khẳng định: S + must + V (nguyên thể)
Ví dụ:
I must pick up my mom at 5 p.m. (Tôi phải đón mẹ tôi vào lúc 5 giờ chiều.)

- You must be here before 8 a.m. (Bạn phải ở đây trước 8h sáng.)

- You must be hungry after working hard.(Chắc hẳn bạn sẽ đói sau khi làm việc chăm chỉ.)

b. Câu phủ định: S + mustn’t + V (nguyên thể)

Ví dụ:
- The boy mustn't play baseball in that garden. (Thằng bé không được phép chơi bóng chày trong khu vườn ấy.)

- You mustn't walk on the grass. (Cấm đi trên cỏ.)
