Essay 2

Freedom and Democracy are the cornerstones of any civilized community. Having said that, I was
inquisitive from the very start of my life about various things. This curiosity only intensifies in my later
years. To satiate this desire, I started to read a lot. This gives me insight into the society I lived in. With
reading, I began to write, too. This led me to the government-run Digital Media Wing. Where I was the
content writer. I had worked under the Ministry of Planning, Development, & Special Initiatives, where I
wrote multiple blogs and scripts to produce promotional videos of federal government projects in
interior Sindh. In particular, I highlighted the current government's relentless efforts to better the under-
developed Interior Sindh's needs through various pro-people projects.

The reason to mention this experience of mine is I am capable of working in high-stakes and prestigious
places. I believe, if given chance, Freedom House’s Junior Fellowship will help nurture me into an
individual who can make a change, though small, but significant. Given my passion for journalism, this
fellowship will better enhance my views to strive for democratic values in my country.

Meanwhile, in the long run, Freedom House’s Junior Fellowship will assist me in my plan of being a
diplomat to represent my country in the UN. I strongly believe this fellowship will shape my outlook
positively toward democratic values to better project my country on international platforms.
