The molecules of different halogens and CFC cause damage to

the ozone layer.
- The halogens like chlorine and bromine and various CFC
compounds are the main reason behind the destruction of the
ozone layer.
- These halogens and CFC molecules destroy the ozone
molecules in a high rate through various chemical reactions
happening in the upper atmosphere.
- For this reason,the above mentioned molecules are also
known as the ozone depleting molecules.
