MESSAGE FROM HOD
The School of Management, NITW offers M.B.A & Ph.D programmes and the vivid
teaching and research pedagogy across the discipline facilitates synchronized delivery
of knowledge and skills to the students. The School of Management has been striving
consistently towards excellence in management education and carved it’s own niche
through nurturing "Technomanagers ready for tomorrow". SoM has a team of 09 full time
Core Faculty having rich experience in academics/ industry who are engaged in
teaching, research and outreach activities. Added to this SoM has 06 Adhoc faculty and
has practice of engaging the Professors of Practice apartment from Industry Experts. The DR. RAMA DEVI V
Department has funded research projects and consultancy assignments. HOD
NIT WARANGAL
MBA is a two-year programme spanning across eight quarters with the curriculum that
provides functional and integrative perspectives to the students. The programme has a
blend of variety of courses - core courses, capstone courses, extensive electives in the
specialized areas of Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial
Management, Operations & IT , industrial training (8 weeks) and the project work (12
weeks). In the evolving context of the dynamic business world, a manager needs to be
agile and respond to the diverse challenges being faced by organizations. Our
pedagogy aims to build this through experiential learning. The teaching pedagogy is a
well-balanced mix of interactive lectures, case studies, role plays, simulations, group
exercises, seminars, assignments and live projects that enables our students to realize
their potential to become excellent managers.

The School has a continuous process of interaction with industry professionals through
expert lectures/seminars and other students’ festivals / events / activities (clubs), etc.
Our alumni are placed in prestigious organizations as managers and in leadership
positions representing different verticals and sectors. I welcome you all to the SoM to
explore and experience the journey of quality management education and lifelong
learning.

In the contemporary world of rapidly changing global business, which are technology intensive and
consumer oriented, the acumen needed for managers is being revolutionized. Recognizing this the
institute has designed a comprehensive MBA programme exclusively for engineers. Thus came to
light the “School Of Management (SOM)” at NIT Warangal.

The MBA program offered by the School of Management is exclusively for engineering graduates.
It is a two year course that runs into 8 quarters. The program has extensive electives in the
specialised areas of Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial
Management, Operations Management, Information Technology and allied areas of management.
Students are exposed to industrial training (8weeks) after completion of 1st year and the project
work (12weeks) during their final quarter.

The school of Management provides a well-balanced combination of academic and practical


business oriented content. The updated curriculum with its wide range of video materials,
databases like prowess, case studies, research projects and other tools aim at enhancing the
understanding of the business reality and also imbibing problem-solving skills. The school has been
accredited with Tata Consultancy Services and is having good placements. The School has fully air
conditioned classrooms with Wi-Fi facility and on-desk microphone with other modern digital
gadgets.

School of Management is placed in the precincts of NITW and enjoys the state-of-the-art
infrastructure of NITW, these include a strong IT-backbone, sports complex, hostels, and so forth

Research activities in the institute: So far SOM has completed projects worth Rs.1.602 million
by NSMTMIS, DST and Government of India.

CLUBS ACTIVITIES

ART CLUB
The school of management, NIT Warangal has a strong and
visionary Alumni Relations Team headed by the students of M.B.A.
The primary objective of this team is to make a fruitful
relationship with over 600+ esteemed alumni working across the
different verticals across the globe. The Alumni Relations team
bridges the gap between the academy and industries by
organizing seminars, webinars, and many more workshops to
keep students of SOM updated on the latest happenings in the
industry. SOM conducts yearly alumni meets on August-
September of every year.

ABHIYAN CLUB
According to BB King, "the lovely thing about learning is that no one can
take it away from you." The majority of students will look for the best
platform to explore, learn, experience, and grow.
Abhiyan is the management departmental club where you can triumph. This
club features group discussions, extempore, guest lectures, topic awareness
outside of academics, quizzes, book explanations, brainstorming activities,
personality development activities, and much more. This is one of the best
clubs where we can be our best and sparkle even brighter.
Due to the pandemic, this club's sessions have been held online for the past
few years. However, we successfully launched the club this year, and we even
recruited active members to help run and arrange events. We all want to do
group activities regularly in the future, and our active sessions will begin in a
few days. This platform is ideal for showcasing our skills and honing them
further. We're all very pleased to be a part of the upcoming events!
SOCIAL OUTREACH TEAM
Students of SOM (school of management) have carried out
various philanthropic projects throughout the years, which focus
on providing the services which are humanitarian, generous,
relevant, and public-spirited in nature. The main focus of this
team is to engage various students and society as well to
organize and implement projects which are helpful to our
country, socially marginalized people, nature and environment
and also develop a sense of goodwill among all of us.

BRANDING TEAM
In today’s era of digitalization, everyone wants to mark their
presence in the digital world. Students of SOM NIT Warangal,
have come up with the idea of branding team. The main objective
of the Branding team is to develop SOM, NIT Warangal a brand in
itself, known globally for its quality education, brilliant faculty and
excellent placement opportunities. A well qualified team of 10
members are actively & consistently working on various platform
such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and twitter to show case
the events and updates from SOM NIT Warangal.
CURA
"CURA" is a significant national management fest organized by students
from the School of Management, National Institute of Technology,
Warangal, to inspire aspiring managers from various B-schools across the
country to develop and demonstrate their varied talents. "CURA" is a
Latin word that means "thoughtfulness," and it is poised to bring out the
latent strategic mindset of budding managers to sustain in today's
challenging business scenario. Many students from throughout the
country have been inspired by CURA. During earlier CURA events,
stalwarts from prominent B-schools like ISB, IIMs, XIMB, SIBM, and many
from the industry such as the then CEO of GVK, EMRI honored the
occasion with their sparkling presence and riveting lectures, hence
triggering further momentum for the event.

RESOURCES
LIBRARY
The central library is a major repository for books. The central library has a
wide number of volumes, journals, magazines, books, databases etc. Apart
from the Central Library, the department does maintain an in-house library
covering books is select areas of management.

ANALYTICS LAB
The analytics lab has 30 machines. The machines have access to Capitaline
database,IBM SPSS, India business insight, IBI, GRETL, R and Python. The
analytics lab has an inverter and provides uninterrupted power-supply.
