The DTMs support the HART Gateway function of the IS1 Remote I/O System.
This allows communication between Device DTMs of HART devices and the HART devices connected to the
IS1. The HART telegrams are transmitted between a PC with the FDT (Field Device Tool) software and IS1
field stations to the HART field devices.
2 System requirements
WIN 2000 SP4, XP SP2
Required PC performance depends on used FDT Frame and size
of the project.

IS1 field stations can be operated with the IS1 DTMs without automation system for commissioning and loop
checking.
The PC on which the FDT Frame (e.g. FieldCare or PACTware,...) is installed requires access to a network.
Using PROFIBUS DP a DPV1-enabled Master (class 2) module with a related CommDTM is required.
For MODBUS TCP/IP applications the CommDTM is integrated in the IS1 CPM DTM which gives direct
access to the standard Ethernet Port of the PC.
The network structure with the HART field devices is configured and the Device DTM of the HART field
devices is integrated in FDT Frame.
After offline creation, configuration and parameter data can be downloaded to a IS1 field station whereby this
changes to active state. Now input-, diagnosis- and I&M-data can be read and outputs can be written.
Communication between HART device DTMs and the allocated HART field devices connected to IS1 is
possible independent from the communication to automation systems.
6.2 PROFIBUS DP
Depending on the used automation system and PROFIBUS master different possibilities for configuration and
parameterization can be used:
The configuration and parameterization of IS1 field stations can be done with the configuration software of the
PROFIBUS class 1 master via the GSD file of IS1.
The configuration- and parameter data are transmitted from the PROFIBUS class1 master to IS1 during
startup of the cyclic communication.
This data can only be read, displayed and documented, but not be modified by the DTM.
In this case the IS1 DTMs are used for diagnosis and HART Maintenance functions only.
The download function of the IS1 DTMs is locked while the allocated IS1 CPM is in cyclic data exchange on
PROFIBUS DP.
Exception: IS1 stand alone operation without class 1 master for setting into operation and loop check.

PROFIBUS
The IS1 DTMs support only the extended parameter set of IS1 (from GSD V2.xx).
Using a IS1 GSD with standard parameter set (V1.xx) no data are uploaded to the DTM and an error message
will be produced.
Advantage:
- uniform and centralized configuration and parameterization tool for DP Slaves,
PA devices, HART devices ...
- complete device support (configuration, parameterization, diagnosis, documentation) in
one tool in one location. Storage of all device data in one central FDT project file.
- Advanced system integration via process channels which supply additional informations
about signal type, scaling ….

Different GSD files are attached in the Setup of the IS1 DTM:
The DTM IS1 DP is reading the file ´Sta2049A.gs_´ (Extended parameter set of IS1 with DPV0 Diagnosis)
transfers this information within the FDT parameter document and via BMCP.
This was chosen because actual ABB systems cannot handle DPV1 conform diagnosis telegrams.
If a DP class 1 master system with DPV1 conform diagnosis shall be used within a project, the files
´Sta2049A.gs_´ must be overwritten with the files ´Sta3049A.gs_´.
For this change, please exit the FDT Frame application and cancel the process ´StahlHWDB.exe´ with the
Windows task manager. Then rename the GSD files and restart your Frame application. After DTM catalog
update the change is effective.
Alternatively, it is also possible to use Ethernet – PROFIBUS DPV1 Gateways with related CommDTM.
This affords the advantage that several PROFIBUS branches (DP Networks) can be connected to one FDT
frame.

The example below shows a PROFIBUS DPV1 Master CommDTM from Trebing & Himstedt in FieldCare
which implements access to PROFIBUS via CP5511 / CP5512 / CP5611 or xEPI modules.
One IS1 field station is connected (CPM9440/....) with several I/O-modules and HART devices.
The DTM catalogue which provides a selection DP devices can be opened using the ´Add Device´ function on
the PROFIBUS DPV1 – Master DTM (e.g. context menu – right mouse button).
You will then see a window for entry of the PROFIBUS DP slave address for the selected CPM:
Example:
After setting the DP address and confirmation with OK the new CPM is generated in the project topology of the
FDT frame.
The DP Address of the IS1 DTM has to be modified in the parent DPV1 Master CommDTM

The IP-address in the DTM must be equal with the IP-address of the allocated IS1 field station.
There are different possibilities the set / change the IP address of an IS1 field station:
Ethernet Ports:
The communication between IS1 DTMs and IS1 CPUs use two Ethernet Ports with the following default
values:
SB_Port=50000
HART_Port=50001
If required the values can be modified in the file ´PortSetting.ini´. The values must be equal with the settings in
the IS1 CPUs.
The Up- and download function is available only in the CPM DTMs and handle all configuration and parameter
data of a complete IS1 field station including the information of all I/O modules. Therefore the IOM DTMs do
not support the Up- and download function.
7.2.1 Download
The configuration- and parameter data are transmitted from the DTMs to the allocated IS1 field station.
After finishing the download the CPM changes into active state and online diagnosis functions can be used
from the DTMs.
Without automation system the operation of a IS1 field station in ´stand alone mode´ is possible. Input signals
can be read and output signals can be written (e.g. for looptesting).
Using automation systems with protocols which write configuration and parameter data from PLC/DCS (e.g.
PROFIBUS DP), this function is locked if the automation system is in data exchange with the filed station
(CPM operation mode 6). In this case the automation system overwrites previous existing configuration and
parameter data in IS1.
Using protocols, where the download of configuration and parameter data is done only from the DTMs (e.g.
MODBUS), the download can be used during operation. In data exchange to the automation system maximum
one telegram will be disturbed what is corrected by the retry mechanisms. However it must be ensured that
the data mapping in the AS of the previous existing signals is not changed by the configuration change.
(Details see ´Online changes´)
7.2.2 Upload
The configuration- and parameter data are transmitted from the CPM and the IOMs of the allocated IS1 field
station to the CPM DTM.
The configuration data (list of the I/O modules) from the IS1 field station is compared with the configuration
data from the FDT project.
In case of conformity the parameters and operation modes of all modules are taken over.
In case of non conformance no parameters are taken over and a message is generated.
Conformance of the configuration data must be produced first by manual configuration changes or by using
the function ´Scan topology´ .
After this the Upload can be repeated to read the parameters of the IS1 field station to the FDT project.
Attention:
Information about the really existing modules in a IS1 field station can be read back using the function ´I&M
Identification and maintenance´
Differences between the really existing modules and the configured modules (e. g. wrong module inserted,
module missing, …) are displayed in the diagnosis masks of the DTMs.

Simultaneous Online- and Offline parameterisation on CPM- und IOM DTMs is not possible because this leads
to inconsistency between the data in IS1 and in the DTMs.
During Online operation of the screen masks ´Parameter´ and ´Signals / Diagnoses´ the consistency
between the data in IS1 and the DTMs is checked.

7.7 Connections
If the function ´Scan HART Livelist´ is activated, HART messages (HART command 0) are transmitted
between the IS1 HART modules and the connected HART Field devices to check the connection to the
devices and read the status of the devices. The status of the HART field devices can be checked
independently of a HART Maintenance System .
The mask is called via the FDT Frame in the menu as well as in the context menu of the CPM with
-> ´ Additional Functions´ -> ´HART Livelist´
The data is updated cyclically when the mask is open and the connection is established (online).
Example:
The HART Livelist can not be read from the CPM if the above mask keeps empty and the ´Refresh´ indicator
is flashing red. Please check the firmware revision of the CPM (>= V02-33 ?)
Example:
Address Data
Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 Modul Signal SignalTag SignalNote Phys0 Phys100 EUUnit <-- Column name
int int int int int int char char float float char <-- Signal data
. . . . . . . . . . . <-- Signal data
Import Rules:
At the import it is presupposed that a signal, for which data should be imported, already is available in the
project data base.
The topology of the IS1 field station in the FDT project is not changed by the content of the imported CSV
file.
The import program is searching for each line of the import file for the address of the signal (Addr, modul,
signal) in the project database.
If the signal is found, so the pertinent data is written to the project file.
The columns in the import file must be present and in the above shown row.
Additional columns in the import file are possible. Contained data of these columns will not be used.
If the signal from the import file is not found in the project database, the data of this signal will be written to
a error log file (*.err), to be able to recognize, which data not were taken over.
The parameters of CPM and IOM are not changed.
The following separator characters and file formats are used for the export function:
The following separator characters and file formats are accepted from the import function:
7.11.1 Documentation
Print functions for configuration-, parameter- and diagnosis data can be executed from the IS1 DTMs (e.g.
Print button in Toolbar) as well as from functions in the used FDT frame.
Using the frame functions, the data of several DTMs of the actual project can be printed.
Depending on the used function call all or only parts of the available print data are transmitted from the IS1
DTMs to the FDT frame.
The used FDT frame is responsible for the styling and format of the print data.
Module labels of all modules of the IS1 field station can be printed with this function.
Print functions:
For the function ´Print module labels´ settings for font and margin can be made in the screen mask above.
Perforated leaves are available, where the module labels can easily be separated after printout.
For exact positioning the margins have to be adjusted printer specific (Default value = 0)
The labels of the modules selected in the right list (Print) are printed.
According to the installation situation of the modules in the cabinet the text of the TAG names can be
turned 180° (Rotation 180°) to improve the legibility.
This function of the FDT Frame compares the two instance data sets of one DTM type and delivers the result
´equal´ or ´unequal´.
This function of the FDT Frame compares the instance data sets of one DTM with the data from a IS1 field
station.
The online data from the IS1 modules are compared with the data stored in the DTM. The function delivers the
result ´equal´ or ´unequal´.
8.1 Overview
The state of the IOM is displayed in the status bar in online operation:
no alarms in IOM
Module failure
The displayed parameters depend on the selected operation mode of the IOM.
Attention !
The cyclic data of the module and with this the configuration data of the IS1 field station are changed switching
the operation mode of the I/O module.
After switching the operation mode a download has to be performed working in stand alone operation with the
DTMs . A online parameter change without a download will not do the required change of configuration data.
Further information about parameters see ´Operation manual IS1´ of the used AS protocol.
Note:
If parameters are changed in online mode, the changes are transmitted to the device and are stored in the
DTM using the ´Apply´ button. This needs some time.
If lots of parameters have to be changed, it’s better to do the changes offline and transmit all parameters with
the function ´download´ afterwards.
8.6 I&M
The displayed I&M data are read direct from the module.
8.7 Comment
Free text for documentation purposes. Max 500 characters. The data is stored in the DTM and not transmitted
to IS1 field stations.
9 HART
The HART multidrop function (multiple HART devices on one input of an IS1 HART module) is not supported
by the IS1. The short address of the HART device (poll address) should therefore be set to zero.
Addressing of the communication to the HART device is implemented via the channel number ( 0 – 7) of the
IS1 HART module. Allocation of several HART Device DTMs to one single Channel of the IS1 DTM is not
allowed.
Both functions (Scan HART Variables and Scan HART Live List) take up transmission bandwidth on the
interface between HART I/O module and the HART field devices.
If these functions are activated, HART telegrams which are requested via FDT (PROFIBUS DPV1) are
answered after a slight delay.
Functions Scan HART Variables and Scan HART Live List should be deactivated in order to achieve fastest
possible communication via FDT.
Initial start:
If a HART device is put into operation and connected for the first time, it may take up to 65 seconds + boot
time of the HART device until the respective HART variables are transmitted for the first time or until the HART
Livelist is updated for the first time, as non-assigned HART inputs of the IS1 HART modules are checked in
the background with a lower frequency cycle. If a newly connected HART device is found, the data update of
the HART variables as well as the Livelist occur subsequently at the maximum possible speed.

On older firmware versions the information in the HART Livelist of the DTM is either not updated or updated
only after power on of the IOM (e.g. after removal and reinserting the IOM).
IS1 DTMs are supporting the function ´Condition monitoring´ for HART field devices .
Some FDT frames (e.g. FieldCare, Fa. E+H) support the ´Condition monitoring´ function.
Using this function, the FDT frame polls the status and maintenance information from HART field devices in a
slow cycle and stores the data in the FDT frame. User alarms are generated in case of HART device failures.
Communication of ´Condition monitoring´ is independent from the communication of the HART device DTMs.
The function can be executed on FDT Channels on various topology levels (PROFIBUS master, IS1 field
station (CPM), IS1 modules, ...) and scans the selected device for other devices below.
The FDT ´Scan´ function is optional and is not supported by all FDT frames and DTMs.
Afterwards the underlying topology levels are scanned (IS1 modules and HART devices).
Found and identifiable devices with allocated device DTMs are automatically added to the topology of the
frame.
Further details of the Scan function of the Software ´fdtCONTAINER´, Fa. M+M, see operating manual or Help
or http://www.mm-software.de/ or http://www.fdtcontainer.com/ .
11 DCS Integration
The FDT functions ´Process Channels´, ´BMCP´ and ´Audit Trail´ are optional. To use this functions they must
be implemented in the device DTMs as well as in the FDT Frames.
IS1 supports this functions for better integration of IS1 into DCS systems.
BMCP (Bus Master Configuration Part) and Process Data Channels are protocol specific and only available
for PROFIBUS applications at the moment (see ´ PROFIBUS configuration and parameterization via DTM´).
Support of Multi User Environments by FDT frames is optional and not available with all FDT frames.
Some FDT Frame applications are able to handle such Multi User Environments:
Parallel work of several users on several FDT engineering stations in one plant must ensure to work on the
same data base to keep the engineering data consistent.
Simultaneous write access of several engineering stations to the same device data will be prevented by the
device DTMs through a locking mechanism.
Attention !
IS1 supports only one connection to a FDT Frame.
Using several independent FDT Frame applications without such support of Multi User Environments in
parallel with one IS1 Field station is not allowed.
This will lead to transmission errors as well as to consistency problems of the data in the different FDT Frame
applications.
