Animals in Danger
There are many endangered animals in the world. One of them is the elephant. Hunters kill the
elephant for their ivory. People use ivory to make decorations. Another animal in danger is panda.
Pandas live in bamboo forests in china. When people cut down the bamboo trees the pandas have no
place to live and no food to eat. Hunters also kill pandas for their fur. There are about 1,600 pandas
remain in the wild today. Tigers are also hunted in India for their skin. Tigers now have less habitats
than 120 years ago. Orangutans or apes mostly live in trees. They eat fruit, leaves, seeds, and
flowers. Yaks live in mountains. They eat plants. People hunt them and destroy their habitats.
In the past, no one protected these animals. Now, many countries are trying to save them and
increase their number.
